lol thanks. The AP World textbook is 1,000+ pages >__> and by the end of the year they're practically done with the whole book.
Like 30-40 pages of reading a night (I have block schedule)

Don't procrastinate!
There's gonna be a lot of reading and take really good notes. Always read or else it'll hurt you on the AP exam.

I'm currently in AP world. Hehe I have an A in that class right now..but that's just because I like history. phew.gif

I'm going to take it this year, but I think it's pretty simple. My teacher says that you could get a 60% on the multiple choic part and do well on the essay...you could still get a 5. :]

Go buy the AP World history 2008 Barron's practice book. It summarizes everything w/ problems. Really helpful

barron's is a good source to study from...they tend to test you on a lot of european affairs and such ...remember tthat most of the questions are ...what happened as a result of something? what were the effects? oh yea, & they ask you a lot about the social activities that were taking place...dbq is pretty easy and the rest of the essays are whatever...

i scored a 4 on the apwh exam because i focused on 1750-1850ish but the test was mainly on the period afterwards

so i'm assuming there's a lot of questions about the world wars and such?
also, i heard there was no questions about the prehistory era [homo-sapiens, etc]; is that true?

Does anyone have any tips for AP Bio?

My class is screwed.

The original AP bio teacher had left for maternal leave, so we have this replacement teacher who has no experience whatsoever in teaching an AP class. As a result, my entire class has not been doing well grade-wise, and we are waaay behind in the course while the AP exam is less than a month away. Also, we've only done of a couple of the recommended labs and I know that labs are a major part of the AP test.

The only thing I can think of doing is start reading over stuff right now myself and reading everything in the AP study guide (I got Barron's, does that work well? Any recommendations?). I have my brother's old lab book, so I might read over that too.

I'm really sad about the class, and so are my classmates. I feel cheated. : (
Sad thing is, there's only two months of school left, so there's really no point in trying to change the teacher or anything else. ><"

Awww....I'm sorry that your teacher left a huge mess after she left. I have a pretty good teacher but we are really behind right now. That's because we used to spend a week on a chapter. Now we spend a day on a chapter >.< My advice.would be reading the CliffsNotes AP Bio book. Personally, I feel like CliffsNotes covers more topics than Barron's. I understand how you feel because I feel like we won't have enough time to finish everything as well. It's a good thing that I'm in APES this year so I'm not worrying about rushing through the Ecosystem unit. Anyways, good luck!!!!

anyone have any studying advice for the AP Bio exam?
i am horrible in this subject...i really regret choosing it as one of my major classes since i suck at science and i hardly have any time to study.
the only study guides i'm using are the 5 Steps to a 5 and the Cliffs Notes for AP Bio. i have a feeling that i'm going to fail the test and on top of that, i'm taking the SATs on May 3 and i have finals about a week before the AP tests. i have a whole lot of cramming to do....my oh my, i just LOVE my school sad.gif

also, does anyone recommend taking AP English? if i get into the class, i'll be taking it as a senior. i was thinking that it might be good for me since English is my strongest subject. for those who have already taken the AP English exam, how was it?

another question...haha sorry happy.gif;...its about AP French. i was going to take it this year since i had an extra period but is it easy or hard? for me, i did pretty well on the regents but how much of a difference would the AP test be from the regents?

thanks in advance to those who answer this! smile.gif

I'm in the same situation as all of you. I'm also going to be taking the SAT IIs for Bio and US History in May. It feels like I don't have enough time. ><"
I'm just planning to cram and read everything in my AP guide and do some practice Q's online, starting now. I don't know what else to do. =/
Good luck to everyone!!!
