how would you say "have fun at the beach!", formally to someone a lot older than you?

is it "amusez-vous à la plage!" ?

Yep, you got that right

This made me laugh because it could almost sound like a super Quebecker type of expression... HAHA!
Like "J'sais tu sti d'laite"... laugh.gif
(Alright, to all quebeckers out there, laugh with me, I know this is funny)
We can go on with...
J'le sais tu, la po belle!
Je l'sais tu, sti d'po belle!
etc...

Would anyone have the time to help me speak French ? I can write but my speaking barely goes further than salut/au revoir (I'm shy).
I need to practice and be more confident. This is just for casual conversation. We'll help each other ?

The proper french way should be klo-eh (please do not pronounce é as ay) because of the accent aigu but I've seen Americans pronounce it as klo-ee. Either works here.

i've been trying to learn it for about 2 months now but i feel i'm not making much progress. i find that i always think of a direct english translation before i attempt to comprehend sentences. this is a bad thing right? anyone whos from an english background now fluent in french want to give me some tips on how you tackle the difficult barriers of the early stages of learning?

I have basically had 4 years of French, but my highschool teacher made the last 2 years more like a free hour period during class. Therefore, I can only say greetings, etc. which sucks because French was a fun language ):

nooooooon lol, "amuse-toi à la plage" if it's for one person, "amusez-vous à la plage" if it's for more than one person or an elderly/adult you don't know very much.

La misère aime la compagnie. (it's not an official proverb in French though, so it's sounds weird to say that)
