I doubt there are many anarchists on this board, but it's not often that you can see two bands from Japan play for only 5000 won.

The bands are Battle of Disarm and Screen Out.

There are also four Korean bands playing:
The Explode - A punk-core band that's influenced by Unseen. They haven't been playing recently because they lost a drummer to the military.
Reanimator - Korean grind-core
Bad Idols - A new band I haven't seen before which is led by the singer of F.uckers Everywhere (sorry but it's their name)
Pulgasari - Anarchist grindcore.

screen out was awesome...and what i was able to see of battle of disarm was equally enjoyable

too bad for certain people ruining the atmosphere and trying to make the place more like some GI-punk club with the excessive violent moshing that was screwing up the vibe

i especially enjoyed the 20 second songs...those were great
I know something is supposed to go here....I just can't remember what
참나~.....

Yeah, the drummer from Pulgasari was pissed. Whenever he was talking in Korean, the GIs would start heckling and yelling for the next song. He was pissed and said between songs that he'd never do another show in Skunk again.

Incidentally, I was the skinhead onstage who told the guy in the Boston cap to get out. He had apparently tried to rough up the door guy on his way in. He's lucky he didn't get sent to the hospital. But it was, after all, a peace show. One show where I wasn't happy to see so many soldiers.

I wasn't around when Skunk was in its first location. That's seriously old. But needless to say, the place wouldn't fit 50 people for sure. Paul lived there for a while.

The boom in foreigners at our shows started early this year, and there's been a consequent drop in Korean attendance. It's been an annoyance to me, and the more foreigners there are the more we need some form of security.

You can see my photos of the past year and a bit at http://www.indecline.net/korea and I'll have the pictures from Saturday on there in a few days.

Anyway, hope you had a good time. Those were some great bands, and aside from Pulgasari being a little riled, all the performances were pretty good.
