OOH.
The new colored ones look so cool.

But um I guess the only cons that I've heard of from my friends are no screen, and maybe short battery life.
And one of my friends clipped it to her belt, and when she was bending over, she bent it too, so she has to send it to Apple.

It's fragile. I have the iPod nano in red and I dropped it onto asphalt and a chunk of the corner just CHIPPED OFF no joke. Plus I had a supposedly durable clear case on it too that's sold at the apple store... And the iPod shuffle is made of the same material except smaller and more fragile so... +_+

they're good for work out and you need a player just to play music and thats it.

If you're a biker, it's nice to have it cause it's small and you wont be noticing it much. It's good for active lifestyle, other than that, it's a really crappy player.

If you're thinking about a shuffle....well...id suggest getting a non-shuffle. shuffles are expensive and they have this reliability issue.

i personally like it. its a nice player to have if a person is constantly on the go, and doesnt need to look at the screen all the time.

Only con is no screen. Shorter battery life makes sense since it is small.

i personally think it is handy (no need to shove the entire thing out of the bag when you are on public transport or just walking around), unlike bulky players. good for workout, too.

the no screen aspect is okay once you get around it. its even better since you dont even have to 'fuss' over lcd scratches!

the price is not exactly cheap for a player of its specs (small capacity), but it does give you some kind of confidence, this being a product coming from apple.

i am not too sure about the 'reliabilty issue' someone above mentioned. i think for its price, at least you wont be mad when it is damaged or when you lose it.

wood!

as a gift, i'd be happy to receive it, especially if i didn't already have an MP3 player, but i wouldn't buy one for myself. i feel like at that price range, it wouldn't kill them to include a screen of some sort... it seems so inconvenient otherwise. i think creative probably offers a better-equipped player for the same price... but for a gift, apple has the name brand and cuteness factor.

the shuffle is really great for working out. you just clip it onto your clothes and you won't even notice that it's there.

option B -->look at this: a modified waterproof shuffle by SwimMan; it will survive a machine washing if you're like the OTHER ipod poster dry.gif ahem ahem lol

(waterproof earbuds too...lol?)

interesting idea...if you're considering the shuffle tongue.gif although it is quite expensive...$250USD (+15 for S/H) blink.gif

Thanks for all your feedback guys!

And yeah, I heard about the waterprooof shuffle too but I don't think all that money's necessary. Haha. Hmm, another question, which colour do u think would be most suitable?

Green, Blue, Silver, Pink?
Im leaning towards the silver just cus .. u cant hate silver... but the colour ones are cooler persay.
Then again, I am buying it as a gift and not for me.

i've enjoyed my iPod shuffle for a while now, I see no problems with it. I think it was intended for people who wanted to listen to music while excercising, so unless you excercise for over 4 hours, a short battery life doesn't seem like a problem.
Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life.

ya silver would make a good gift... the other colours depend on that person's personal preference....maybe you shoul find out what colour the gift receiver likes?
