Jelena was born in Belgrade in 1978. She began her singing career in the mid-1990s and gained popularity with her debut album, Ogledalce (1995), selling more than 100,000 copies worldwide. She has since had several hits, most of which were written by Marina Tucaković. As of 2006, Jelena has released eight studio albums, which charted in Serbia, Montenegro and neighbouring countries such as Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bulgaria. She was briefly married to Bojan Karić in 2004, divorcing only 4 months later.

Why I like Jelena
First off, she is NOT a porn star lol. I never knew about Serbian music till I ran into this amazing singer Jelena. I saw her performance of *Slatka Mala* on *Youtube* and she looked AMAZING, her body,voice, personality is AMAZING and Ive been obsessed with her ever since. She has gotten MANY MANY MANY plastic surgeries, but I don't care, I still think she is amazing. Her music videos and performances are almost as good as U;Nee and Jelena looks very expensive with ehr clothign and all haha.

I'm ambivalent... I'm not sure if I really like her music that much, it's folky to the extreme (especially her early stuff). But she's a totally hilarious celebrity. Have you read any of the interviews with her? She's just so arrogant, like "my birthday is my favourite day because it's when I was born and I am amazing" sort of thing, which is totally hilarious. But yeah, the scandalicious outfits, the skankalicious lyrics, the totally extravagant attitude, the massive drama and the failed marriage - definitely one of the most interesting Serbian singers by far. Haha. I think she's got some talent though, but it's overshadowed by the antics.

SHE IS SO HILARIOUS HAHAH even though I don't know Serbian I still think she is FUNNY! esspecially when she dances, she dances liek SHE IS THE mini cooper and no one is better than her. She dances and sing and has an AURA of SUCH CONFIDENCE it makes me drawn to her naturally. One is like 5.95 and the other is like 10.95. I thought maybe the cheaper one is a tape cassette, but I guess not since you got a CD. I think you're right, it may have been used. Look on the bottom of the CD and check if it has any scratches. I usually do that to check if the CD is used or not. Seka's CD's are great too! All three of them are pretty good, in my opinion.

WE NEED TO BRING those kind of SINGING competitions to AMERICA!

Oh yes! I think it's called Star Academy. I don't where the show originated, but they have it in France too! Star Academy is kind of like American Idol, except all the contestants live in a house together. Then actual singers come and visit the contestants in the house and in the "primes" where the contestants actually perform, the singer guest performs a few songs with some of the contestants. I love that show! Too bad America doesn't have something like that, although there aren't too many American singers that I like, so I probably wouldn't watch it anyways.

yeah I saw that cuz Nadiya (a french singer) was on the Star Academy and I was like "wth? do lebanese understand french?" lol but then I realized that it's different hahaha

I think Nadiya was on the Lebanese one, actually! She's probably been on the French one also though. Since Nadiya is Arab [although she sings in French], she was invited to be on that Star Academy. I didn't see the part where they talked to her, but she might have only talked in French. This other singer, I think it was Tina Arena, also came on the Arab Star Academy. I don't know why she was invited though. She's Australian, but she's sung a few songs in French before. During the interview though, she only talked in English. I think it's common for Arabs to learn French also, especially in Morocco and Lebanon. Supposedly Haifa knows French, but idk because I heard her sing it once and it didn't sound that great. lol

yeah she was, do those lebanese contestants know French? or did they just mesmorize the song? Nadiya is ARAB I knew IT!!!! she doesn't look like any other french person I know, you know Nadiya's history is very interesting, FEMALE BOXER hahah she does have that look/body lol Really arabs learning french? why isn't it COMMON for AMERICANS to know any other language PSH!!!! it would have been so kewl if my parents taught me some CRAZY EXOTIC language when I was younger.

You know, eventhough Jelena may look like a tragqueen in some of her pics lol, I still love ALL HER PICTURES! they are so creative, almost as creative as U;Nee's.
