This is a first for a drama series. There have been many cases where a final episode is extended (generally by 15 minutes) or a series gets a later special episode, but no serialized drama has ever had a finale extended to 3 hours.
"LIAR GAME" has attracted decent ratings and has become very popular among young viewers. In an Oricon survey early in the season, it had the second-highest viewer satisfaction rating behind "Kaette Kita Jikou Keisatsu."
Actor Kinya Kitaoji (Kareinaru Ichizoku) will make a guest appearance in the final episode as Hasegawa, the head of the "game."

a 3-hour finale seems long...im having mixed feelings about it..but then again, we still have a couple of episodes to go...wonder how it's all gonna end

Would it be a three hour finale mixed with commercials? Without commercials it might be about 2 to 2.5 hours.

The OST scared me when I was listening to it in the middle of the night in the dark. Especially Dope Headz. That track is scary at the beginning. I'm such a chicken XD

Oh yeah, it is also on veoh.com! Just search it fast because sometimes they play the trailer for that movie, BUG, and it's very scary and I don't like how they make the videos play as soon as you go on to the website but they have a lot of stuff on there.

woot! just finished watching episode 7...dang, that akiyama is so smart...but the writer of this story is smarter!

how he (or she?) managed to tie up a plot like that is beyond me...

anyways...they seem to be stretching the story now that the end is almost near. the first few episodes flew really fast, but right now at episode 7 they're still at the resurrection round...should be interesting to see how the third round goes at this rate...and i really really wish nao would develop a brain of her own. she can't possibly depend on akiyama throughout this series, can she? i'd like to see her come up with a plan to outwit the others all on her own just ONCE...

Yup that's what i thought too when i first saw it...i was like "how could the writer be so smart". and then i found out the writer is the same author of the infamous manga Death Note, "no wonder" haha. Only he could think of such smart strategies. I hope he will write more and more mangas of this type <33
