So.. I always heard about Watership Down, the animated movie about the rabbits and I was finally able to watch half of the movie on youtube.

What I have to say is, was this movie intended to little children to watch? or was it made for adults. I mean the violence and gore that's shown in this movie makes me question it.

I also know that it was originally a book that was turned into an animated feature. Has anybody ever heard or read the book?
Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life.

The original novel is not a children's book--it's suitable for teenagers and older...

I read the book. It's basically a microcosm of human life and has been associated with attacking fascism (Nazism, etc).

It should be suitable for all ages (I don't remember any specific huge gory acts from the movie) but it may go over younger kids's heads as just a weird movie about rabbits.

Nonetheless, I didn't really like it. That Fiver creeped me out XD

I loved the book when I read it. I think I'll pick it up again. It's been a while since I've read it.

I have read the book, it's one of my favorites haha.
I agree with papabear. It's not really intended to be a children's movie.
Just because it's animated doesn't mean it's suited for children~

Read the novel, its good book, but its a type of book that you read and you either hate it or love it. I didnt much like it because i found it to be too slow of a read but that could be due to the fact i read it for school. But the cartoon and book are for adults and teens. Children wont get it and i find it to be too scary for kids
