Blackberry Pearl 8100 Please Help >.<

I just got my white Blackberry Pearl today. I have know idea how it works. Lol.... well the main problem is that my memory card. I had a slvr before so I already have a memory card. But when I put it into my blackberry it doesn't work. Does this mean there is a specific card I have to get for the Blackberry?

im pretty sure both use a transflash card so you may just have to reformat your card first

Reformat? Okay I am really slow and technology dumb. Hahahah so yeah... how do you reformat a memory card? thanks btw
