Mod, if this doesn't belong here please move it to where it does belong.. general discussion perhaps? ^-^'Okay, so I luckily just ordered a Nintendo Wii bundle from Walmart.com (thanks to online stock tracker alerts, if you would like the site feel free to PM or ask here). Yes, I'm one of those in the innovators/early adopters section of the product life cycle. I know it's bad to buy it when it just came out but considering that it has been out for a couple of months, I've imporved since the PS2. So please don't say anything about being a fretard for buying it now because I know already. Anyways, back to the point..
The thing is, I haven't a clue how many extra controllers I need to/should buy. Note that I'm planning to play multiplayer games with 4 people as well as single player games.
There's the remote, nunchuk, and classic. It just makes it seem horrible to buy 4 of each.
Questions:- I've heard that the GC wavebirds work on the Wii but would it work with the new Wii games?
- How many remotes and classic controllers should I get? (if question 1's answer is yes, ignore this)
- Is more than 1 or 2 nunchuk controllers necessary for multiplayer games?
- Do you have any other suggestions? (As to wait until third parties come out with the rechargables and improved versions? I might very well do this but I do need at least 2 or 3 controllers at the time being)
Thanks!!
1. I couldn't find much info when googling it. I had no clue what the wavebirds were until now. I found a little review/opinion by one person
here. He/she says it works good on the Gamecube and VC (virtual console) games, but not as good on the Wii. He says it's a fantastic controller though. It's hard finding a review for this product.
2. Depends. How many people do you plan on playing at one time? I have 2 because it's mostly me and my bro.
3. It depends on the game. For example, nunchucks are required to play Raveman Ravaging Rabbits and Madden, while it's not on Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam. It just depends what games you are playing so to be on the safe side, buy the nunchucks or ask at game forums.
4. Hmm...suggestions. Wait for the reviews to come out for the rechargeable battery docks, because I've heard bad things for the 360 remote once it came out. In the mean time, you can just buy rechargeable batteries.
Be careful when your hands are starting to sweat a bit. Take a rest or wipe it off. You can use skins on your remotes/nunchucks too. I bought mine from mangowalk on ebay. Good quality, cheap price, and fast shipping.
There are no bugs whatsoever on the Wii. The only problem was the strap and that was solved. If your connect your Wii to the internet by wireless, then Nintendo will constantly send updates to it whenever they have one. So when it's connected to the internet and on standby mode, there will be a blue light which usually means the system is receiving updates. So basically, if there is any bugs in the software. Nintendo will be able to fix it and send it out quickly if you have internet connection.
Btw, Rayman Ravaging Rabbit and a good and funny games. Especially for party types.
