what does your boss carry?
yeah, it's extra weight... but they saved me numerous times. i am really thankful for that.
i am thinking of switching out the ol' steel and iron jack for a low profile aluminum one.
neener neener... can't catch me~!

I just have the jack that came with the car, some wrenches, and a torque wrench with a socket set.

I used to carry a set of sockets and screwdrivers but I never had a secure place to mount them and they kept sliding around and hitting things when I corner, plus it was often dead-weight, so I stopped carrying them. I might go with a tool bag so I can stuff it in the spare tire well.
I've never had to use tools while on the road and I've taken several long trips over the years with my car.

i have crap tools. Haven't had an emergency situation to use them *knock on wood* but I am more than well prepared. I even have my stock control arm in the trunk just in case my cheap ebay one break.
I also carry tons of other things like
latex gloves
blanket
extra shirt and pants
water
lubricants
carwash equipment
tons of zipties lying around
2 tool boxes
I might be overdoing it but i'd rather have all this crap in my trunk than be stuck on the side of the road cold, thirsty, naked and tool-less. All i need is a fridge and a toilet and i could live in my car.
