I've always been the type who would play boxing with guys... and ends up the one making them cry [Yesh I'm horrible]

I've always been boyish, from the clothes I wear to my actions. Since I'm getting older (16) I want to be a bit, if not entirely, feminine. Even my brother says so. sweatingbullets.gif

I also feel the need AND want to... I think it's time to refine myself crazy.gif

So, to make it short I need advices on how to start.

Oh, one more problem. I DON'T LOOK MY AGE AT ALL! I look too young! For example, whenever I watch a movie the cashier wouldn't even ask me if I'm a child or not. One look and I'd ALWAYS get child tickets dry.gif [I'm in high school!] The reason behind this perhaps is because of my height... I'm on the short side unfortunately.

So right now,

- I'm getting feminine clothes
- Starting to wear accesories (earrings)

I wouldn't touch make ups yet...

...what else should I do?

Help please? It would be really appreciated.

Thanks!

yeah, hair, clothes, & makeup can do wonders to transform a person~
what kind of clothes do you normally wear? try to wear more girly clothes & accessorize.
if you don't feel comfortable applying makeup yet, just start with some lip gloss & mascara & work your way up~ and don't forget to clean up ur eyebrows if they are a bit unruely. eyebrows can change a person! (imo tongue.gif)
and for hair...you should leave it down instead of tying it in a ponytail all the time.
maybe you can post a pic of urself so we could help you more!

i was just like you~ even the don't-look-my-age part!

it's only until my college days that i dediced that i wanna look girly.. haha..

i started with my hair... i used to cut them really short but then i decided to grow it out.. i even went on to get full bangs.

then yeah.. the clothes.. no more jeans and tee shirts.. i mean of course u can wear them but not the i-look-totally-like-a-boy kind! i used to even wear a shirt over my tee just to look more manly! hahaa *those were the days*

next.. shoes! i used to only wear sneakers but then i moved on to wearing.. well.. heels may be a little too difficult at first, you can start with sandals.. u can get those intricately designed ones.. complete with diamantes!

but the most important thing is ur mentality~! well .. i don't know if that's the right word but for me.. well ... ever since i decided that i want to girly and actually got down to doing it, i even started to like pink (previously, it was the ultimate girly colour, the colour of crap. hha) and you got to change from within too! u can't go around hitting boys either when you are looking like a real woman (think beyonce!). change your tone, your attitude, your mentality!

good luck =D

Hmm........i say, don't get overly stressed about trying to look feminine. What's most important is that you're comfortable being you.

Changes will come along naturally. Just be who you are, no matter if others tell you that you're a tom-boy.

Since I was young until now (I'm 20), I've never been able to grasp what it means to be lady-like. I just dress the way I'm comfortable in, and in the style I like. "Feminine" was never a word to describe me, nor was "cute." So yea, just let the change come naturally. No need for any dramatic changes.

Be careful on what you consider feminine clothing, it's not just pink t-shirts/polos and jeans. Don't forget skirts, girly tank tops (like with frills or beads or something), and dresses! Floral shirts are really in right now...and when it comes to accessories, don't forget purses, girly shoes (luckily flats are in right now)!, and necklaces are really nice too!

Where are you shopping for your feminine clothing and accessories? (If you don't mind me asking) smile.gif ?

Hmrm.. go shopping ? bleh who knows.. i'm on the boyish side myself.. i guess i've become more feminine as well o.o just a little.

so try for a girly hairstyle? maybe do layers, bangs, and straightening will do. for clothing wise.. just girly stuff and accessories, why not try the fobby look?? isnt that like a lot of layers.. seems comfy to me o.o lol

I dunno. Normally when people think you're younger, like a child,, you shouldn't really have a chest you're comfortable with...

and that's what my friend told me to do when I told him that my friend thought I was a guy after he lost his memory ^^;

i was a tomboy back then too.. but i changed my style slowly... it was like a part of growing up. lol but i've never touched makeup.

- buy tighter jeans
- tighter t-shirts
- a nice coat: trench coat? coats that goes tight at your waist
- change your regular sneakers to pumas (speedcats) or keds, those are quite feminine. something along those lines.
- get a new hairstyle. bangs and layers would work
- wear jewelry. preferably dangly earrings.

i'm 16 also, and i didn't look my age until i changed my hairstyle. lol. hair speaks a lot. =X

I was just like you this year, but just take it step by step.
Start by wearing "tighter" clothing, but not too tight to the part where you can't breather @.@;
The after that take it to the next step by wearing longer and dangling earrings. Then if you want take it to the next next step and start wearing make up =]

well first i should say that i don't think you should try to do everything all at one time....baby steps dear..baby steps.

~ i know you said you didn't want to do makeup yet, but i say try some clear gloss and black mascara..i swear just those two alone can make you feel more girly
~get your eyebrows and nails done..that always makes me feel girly smile.gif

~go shopping with one of your girly friends. let them help you pick out a few things

also i think somebody said to change your hair cut..that always works....smile.gif

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
but most importantly don't totally loose your style. try to incorporate your 'tomboyness' into your 'girlyness' ...kinda make your style ''girly tomboy'' lol if that makes sense....?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
try outfits like these for your transitional phase...they're tomboyish...but still a bit girly...

pic creds to dahong.

maybe change your hairstyle, like everyone else is saying..to a more feminine style. like layering your hair, or curling. biggrin.gif
maybe you could wear skirts and stuff. lol
and try wearing more accessories..earrings, bracelets, necklaces.. biggrin.gif

i don't see how being comfortable with your own chest has to do with others thinking you look like a child.

i didn't really dress boyish. more like a bum x________x

don't change your style overnight...when buying tops pick ones with cute patterns or graphics. you don't have to wear tight jeans...slightly slouchy jeans/pants are really cute too!!

and like everyone said..if you have long hair, get it layered. with side swept or straight fringe. that's really girly in my opinion biggrin.gif
