So basically I am an idiot and I didn't see that one of my school's deadlines for sendin it tax returns was march 2.
and it says to just send in immediately.
so i go to my dad
n tell him to give me his 2006 tax returns
n hes like
i dont have them
and i was like why? its due though...
and hes like i didnt do it yet
im sorry but i did not kno wut tax returns are i dont work. i just thot everyone gets it mailed to them..
and then i make copies and send it off.
and so my mom and me are freaking out because if i dnt get it sent.... my financial packg will not be complete and looked at....
and my dads rly like irresponsible n he doesnt really care....
and hes like
'well i cant do it yet because something something....4th quarter for the grocery isnt done"
(because my parents own a grocery store)
so i am freaking out rite now
on the email it says
'Please share this email with your parents unless their tax forms are not required.'
how do i know if its not required?
would this count?
cuz my dad says he cannot do it yet...
like cant because something w/ the income of our grocery store...4th quarter? i dnt eve know
i am freaking out. please help me.
when is it not required to send in tax returns?

i'm kind of in a similar situation, except i'm not entirely sure when my parents' 2006 fed tax returns are due..hah.
but for my college, you are not required to file an income tax if your income was less than $6400. maybe your school has a pdf file you can dl that has the non-filing statement sheet, which has all the required information.
good luck; i feel your pain. =/

If you don't file a tax return--you have to file a nonfiling statement. I'm not quite sure what the process is, but all I know is that even though you dont file taxes-- you have to file the nonfiling statement at least. Then you have to give proof why your family does not have to file taxes--like handicap, disabilities and that stuff. My friend has to file a nonfiling report because her mom is disabled and unable to work =T
Good luck with your financial aid!!
