Other than getting more sleep, what do you think helps you get up in the morning or what would you recommend?

I get the required 8hrs + of sleep needed, but for some reason, I always feel sooo lazy/tired, and it takes me a while, maybe around 20-30 minutes before I'm bothered to even get out of bed lol.. even if my mum tickles my feet to try and get me out.

Sometimes I get so lazy I don't even want to go to school lol! sad.gif

Any advice or anything you guys can offer? smile.gif Maybe there's some foods/drinks you can eat/drink the night before that helps? I have no idea.. anyone know? sad.gif

^ I think that's supposed to make you sleep easier, not get up faster.

Coffee, maybe? An energy drink? A whack in the face? Haha, okay. I have absolutely no idea. I need a remedy too. -___-"

I suppose to get up at 6:00 but I'm so lazy to get out of my bed. My eyes are open it's just my body won't move, but I have to force myself to get out of bed every morning, onthe weekend I sleep until noon like until 1:00 or 2:00 I'm not really sure. I'm not a morning person but I have to b/c I've got to go to class and work.

No matter how tired I am, I still get up in the morning.
I don't think it has to do with you being tired, I think you
might just be a heavy sleeper so you have a harder time
getting up in the morning.

If you do that, after a while your face will become bloated and big (water retention). It's been recommended that people don't drink water an hour or two before they go to sleep for that reason. Funny idea though. haha

I think an easier way is just to set an alarm and put it somewhere far and out of reach from your bed.. say right next to the restroom sink (if your room is connected to the restroom that is). That way, by the time you turn off the alarm, you're already at the sink. Might as well wash your face and brush your teeth. ^ ^

8 hrs might just be too much sleep for you.

also, some people are just naturally not morning people.

getting up at 6pm is a pain in high school too. in college i get the same amount of sleep as when i was in high school but just the simple fact that i wake up at a different time makes a big difference!

put your alarm clock far away from you in a place where you have to get out of the comfort of your bed and walk pretty far to turn it off. once in a while move your alarm clock so that it doesn't become routine.

A friend of mine is using a special alarmclock which basically is a lamp. You preset the time you're supposed to wake up. Half an hour before that time point the light will start to gradually grow more intense, kind of faking a sunrise.
According to my friend, she wakes up more relaxed and feels better that way, even if she sleeps less than usual.
Haven't tried it myself yet, so I don't really know if it works. But it sounds kind of nice...

i get up at 5AM on weekdays and run 2 miles every morning. despite the amount of sleep i got the night before, the exercise makes me feel energized for the entire day.

Just jump out of bed, sometimes, you'll eat it.. but that'll wake you up even faster and then dash for the bathroom before anybody else gets it and take an ice cold shower. THAT will wake up you no matter what.
Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life.

Wow that's amazing haha.

I have the hardest time getting up in the mornings too. I wait until the last possible minute to wake up before I know that I'm going to be EXTREMELY late to class (being late is okay by my terms). Either I have to wake up really early and do everything slowly or I end up waking up extremely late. Getting a GOOD sleep is important. Make sure you are comfortable at night I guess. It's all about mentality though so just FORCE yourself.
