Hi, i like seriously cant get fat which sucks cuz i need some fat cuz of my metabolism. So is it true that protein bars help you gain weight? is it bad for you? how long does it take for the weight to gain? will it make you fatter throughout your body or just some parts? thanks.

if you want to gain weight... all you need to do is to head over to mcdonalds everyday and supersize your double quarter pounder w/ cheese meal, and add some chicken nuggets and a couple of those snack wraps while you're at it. try it out for a few weeks and see what you get! tongue.gif

but honestly, calories are calories are calories. if you want to gain fat, just take in a lot of calories, more than what your body needs. protein is good to build up muscle, which will increase your weight, but not make you 'fatter' if you exercise

Yes protein bars are good for gaining weight if you also do some weight lifting with it.
Protein is needed in order to build muscle (i.e. gain weight)

reminds me of the movie/documentary "supersized" where that man ate mcdonalds for 30 days and supersized most of his meals... that is disgusting...

if you're desperate to gain fat (cause your topic says "fat" not muscle) and some muscle...i'd keep up with whatever your diet is and on top of it drink muscle milk (lots of calories, good amount of protein and such)...and make sure you exercise, you'll gain some fat and some muscle.

reason why you should gain some muscle...you dont want to shoot down your metabolism (more muscle=healthier metabolism)

some protein bars are meal supplements, so if you use the meal supplement bars, dont eat another meal along with it, cuz calorie-wise... thats 2 meals. crazy.gif but those supplement bars arent even filling and you'll prolly end up hungry again later, so i personally would just have a normal meal instead of the bar

Honest, if anything, protein bars really are over rated to those who do not know the nutritional value behind them. Protein bars are packed with whey protein powders and what not combined with quick absorbing carbs in other words along with sugar. These bars are made specifically for those who are constantly active or needs a quick "protein source" after their workouts...if you're looking to "fatten" up then I suggest letting your daily eating go and eat whatever you want. Most health advocates will tell you that muscle is a better option compared to fat gain. My advice, gain some muscle, it'll add the "bulk" that you want...I doubt that you want to be fat and then end up regretting it and trying to get back into whatever shape you are in now. Also, if you need "fat" in your diet look at healthy fats such as Omega 3s found in fish and all. Good luck with your journey though.

I've heard that if you eat High Energy stuff you gain some weight. And lots of carbs too.
