But anyway, I'm not an expert or anything, this is just my opinion. I think it's unhealthy to do so. In the end, will they let you give blood when they scale you and see you're a pound or two under, anyway? So there will be a chance that you won't even be allowed to give blood.
You should ask someone who is coordinating it. If they have no idea, find the hotline for it (probably on the permission slip to give blood) and call and ask.
And... You had this mindset since Freshman year? Wow. That's a lot of weight that you've been determined to gain.

Also, just because you're the right weight doesn't mean you're allowed to donate blood. There are a lot of restrictions when it comes to donating blood because ARC has to make sure that your blood is suitable for those in need. They check for all kinds of past and potential diseases you might carry, so don't go wasting your pint of blood because they will throw your blood away if it's unacceptable.
I tried twice, and the first time I nearly fainted because my body couldn't take the shock. I was okay the second time, but in the end, they still couldn't use my blood because I have certain antibodies that might pose a potential risk to those who are immunocompromised.
Give thoughts as to why you want to do it, and if you can't donate blood because you're underweight, you always have other ways to help out. It doesn't have to be donating blood. Fluctuating your weight like that is a danger to your health.
