I read the article as well. I think that her positive mindset is good, but I find it slightly irritating for her to call out Nicole Richie in an interview and imply that she is a toothpick. I just think that that part was unnecessary in getting her point across.

I saw her on some TV show a few months ago and she said she's a size 6, which is healthy and normal by reality's standards (but big by Hollywood's standards). She's tall though, so she'd probably look smaller than a size 6 if you met her in person.

Um...Kate Winslet is a size 8. That's pretty darn small, considering that at one point, Mandy Moore stated she was a size 10. Kate Winslet USED to be be "curvy", but recently, she's been fairly trim.

If you truly love the body you're in, it shows without a verbal statement.

Mandy Moore isn't rail thin aka Hollywood thin, but she is still very thin in everyday regular people standards. She is roughly 136 @ 5'10.. that's a small size 6. A good friend of mine works as a stylist in the city, he said it's so true that the camera adds 10-15 lbs. Mandy is tiny in person (horizontally). so is Kate Winslet like someone had mentioned above.. I think people think Kate Winslet is "Curvy" because she has a round face and a short neck, so it " appears " she's a little more chub chub than the rest of the hollywood hamsters.

And let's not forget Hollywood size is different from Real word size.. Kitson Boutique on Roberston Blvd in LA sells jeans that ranges from 00 to 8 (they hardly go bigger than 8), and 24 which is a 0/2 is their most popular size. I would say a Hollywood 6 is more like a small real life 4

I find it amusing when people call Jessica Alba and Eva Longoria "Beautifully Curvy".. no America F from Ugly Betty is Curvy, Selma Hayek is Curvy, them two chicks needs another big mac.

I can't click on the interview so I haven't read it, but what I don't understand is why saying someone is skinny is considered an attack.
Maybe you guys only perceive it to be that way because the article addresses Mandy embracing her size. Just because she contrasts herself to someone else and says she's happy the way she is doesn't mean she's attacking the other person, or implying that the other person should be heavier.

Yea, I agree. Especially since it's criticizing Nicole publicly in print. If it's behind the scenes, then it would have been fine, but not when the whole world can read what you said.

agreed. And the truth is... mandy moore used to be sooo skinny a long time ago when she came out with the song candy. I liked mandy moore when she was in the movie a walk to remember but then after she did a magazine interview with seventeen (i think) about the top 40 things she wanted to do, I lost complete respect and interest in her. One of the things on her list was saying the f word or something. She supposedly loves saying the f word.
