Firefox is safer than earlier IE versions. I don't know about the new one.

Right now FF, has a memory leak problem, but that doesn't affect me much.

Firefox has lots of add-ons and is customizable while IE doesn't have any and can't customize.

i think for most users, either one is fine. as firefox becomes more prevalent on the net, it will eventually have its own fair share of security issues.

Well, Avant is just a wrapper around IE so it's going to have the security flaws IE has...

firefox is so much better than ie, the new version of ie made my computer really slow and it give too many pop-ups saying that my computer contain a virus, so i would say firefox is much safer.

Firefox big time, i juz love the extension or add ons it juzs add colours to it. but then again watcher is correct as Firefox is becoming more and more popular among nets user, Firefox will have the same problem as IE. But for now Firefox rocks.

Diffrence btw IE and Firefox for me is that:
Firefox have alot of add ons, which makes surfing the net easy and nice.
The cons here are that some companies still used IE as default browser aka best viewed in especially government's website, but then again firefox have IE extension for firefox. sweatingbullets.gif
And Firefox is much more safer than IE7.

Truth is, they both work just fine. You just need to know how to use each one properly and safely.

I use IE because it's better embedded into the system and it hasn't let me down. Even back when there were a bunch of security vunerabilities, I knew how to take care of it properly. I was glad when IE7 came out, the tabbed browsing system is so easy to adapt to and very user-friendly. Firefox's tabs frustrated me at times.

So basically. If you want something that works and does the job properly, get IE. If you want more from your browser, like all of the cool add-ons, the dazzling effects, and the nice features, get FireFox.

IE 7 is much more user friendly than the previous versions. but most people are still in the delusion that FF is safer and more user friendly than IE.

in fact, with the latest version of IE + Windows Defender, i can say FF is only better in the sense that it has more developed and matured add-ons so far.
