So my sister did a "system recovery" on our computer and now when we turn on the computer the mouse and keyboard works for about 5 secs then freezes. We tried to download the keyboard device again but it's not working. Does anyone know what to do?

Wow such a odd problem you have!
Do you know what they connect with?
USB or PS/2? PS/2 is the round connector usually purple and green connectors.

And they BOTH stop working?
Next time it stops working, can you try to unplug your USB mouse and plug it into another port? It might force windows to re-detect the mouse as a USB and give you access. If you can get control of your mouse, you can hope to fix up the rest of the stuff right?
