SO, My ipod is kinda messed up right now. I plugged it into a different computer while at a trip with my friends, and it kinda messed it up. When i took the ipod out, i turned it on a couple days later to see that ALL my songs has been deleted. It had over 2000 songs on there that i dont own on a hard drive anymore. I look at the ipod details, it says 0 songs, and 0 everything, but when I plugged it on MY computer, on itunes it still empty, but when I go to the ipod folder on windows explorer, and put "show hidden files" ALL my songs are in there, and they're working when i click on them, just not on the ipod. if i click a song it copies to the computer and plays it... So i know the songs are still on my ipod, but their just not showing up, but there still under "hidden files", so i was wondering if anyone knew how to bring them back out. One of the opitions was "restoring" the ipod, but that said that it would clear everything from my ipod and start over.... has anyone had this probem? and know what to do? thanks smile.gif

Hm, I'm not so sure about the problems but I think:

§ When you plugged your Ipod into a different, did that computer have iTunes? Did you try to change anything while your Ipod was still plugged?

Because incase that computer had iTunes with an library that had 0 songs and the option was to automatically sync everything..then your songs will be gone.

§ the Ipod folder you talk about, I think you mean the iTunes library. The songs will still play if you click on it, but it doesn't mean that they are still on your Ipod. My suggestion for you is try to put all the songs into the iTunes library again and plugg your Ipod into your computer and sync everything once again.

My Ipod is 80Gb and it drives me nuts sometimes. If I have my Ipod on the automatically option and delete songs in my regular folders, the iTunes will lose those deleted songs too and when my Ipod is plugged onto the computer, it will lost those songs too. That's why I chose the manual option so save some space in in the harddrive. A problem is when I want to add a new song into my Ipod...it can lose everything I delete from my folders. I still try to learn about this Ipod thing. But I hope it works out for you...
