You know, stereo types and all that. Like `goth` or `punk` or `preppy` or..... `emo` and all that. Seriously, who needs labels? I think they suck! Seriously, kids/teenagers these days actually LIKE labels [no offense to you people who like labels or whatever ... I don't really wanna bash about this but .... I had to or else I would explode!

Ok, I don't wanna be a downer and what not but, I just want to see your opinion on singers/bands/blah blah with labels.

] I mean, in school or whatever, you see KIDS sayin' "Thats so emo dude." Or whatever. Somethin' like that.... They follow whatever they see or hear/etc. Mostly influenced by famous people and such... Anyway gotta stop my bashing about it; what do you think about famous people, singers, actors/actresses with labels? [Don't get mad at me please!

Well labels do nothing but group people up, but it does happen for a reason. People like to be quickly informed about things without having to research very much. So if you are able to group similar things together, than people will immediately know what to expect. Imagine if music had no such labels as genre, you would never know what kind of music that particular artist was unless you heard of them before hand.
Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life.

Label are only marketing and selling stuff.
I'm in book publishing so i'll talk about books, but it's the same thing with music, cinema and so on.
Book seller need to label the books because they need to know where they are going to rank it, in which departement. So a book need to be a "science-fiction book", a "thriller", a "French novel", a "sociological essay", a "photo-book",... because today a book need to be bought by itself (self-service, no need for an advice from the seller) and people want to read what they already read.

First off, emo's such a fad right now that anything that's not content is emo. Imo (I guess...) labels can apply to people, ie those who were actually part of the first-wave of whatever label (Bouncing Souls being punk, Rites of Springe being emo, or w/e).
As for famous people having labels... eh, whatever. I hate them, but a lot of them don't seem to be thought through anyways.

I just hate it when they take labels too far. Calling someone a name once is bad, but calling them a name over and over again is horrible.

Yeah ``Labeling music is fine`` but really, when music people get `labeled` kid.teens get influenced then they START using labels. So that is what's ticking me off with labeled music.
