i currently have a ipod nano but thinking of getting a new mp3 playa.

most people use ipod, and it has okay functions
but iriver has cooler features i think and looks better..so dunno

what mp3 players do you guys have?

i have an ipod nano..my second sicne i lost my first. but mines supposed to be a 4gb but i swear it acts liek a 2gb..my ipod supposed to hold "1000" songs but when i plugged it into my laptop it said it was already at its capacity when it had liek 350 songs. then when i checked the status thign itd sya like 50% was music and the other was "other" but wut is the other stuff? wut does the iriver look like? im thinking of gettin a new mp3 player too

make the jump. Go for the Iriver. Ipods are nice.........but they can only play music and their batteries always seem to die so fast (wonder why....?)

It's just an estimate if you read apple's site. Your songs are probably lengthy and bigger, so they take up more space =\ Other might be like album pics, cache, etc.

I haven't used an iRiver but they seem nice. I have an iPod nano (2GEN) myself and I love the click wheel and battery life.

I like my Iriver H10 [lol, not THAT old malevolent. xD] and think it's superior to the Ipod by far...

But everyone's like "ZOMG THAT THING IS HUGEEE" but w/e, I have big hands xD

Hardware-wise iPods might not be the best out there but i think you'll really miss iTunes. Syncing with iTunes is just so convenient..

I have an iRiver H320.

Now that's ancient - came out like 3 years ago.

Battery still runs perfectly. Great audio quality.

Even though its old it is still a great DAP that stands up to an iPod in terms of music.

I want the Clix 2 ... It's already out in Korea for about $200 for a 4GB ...

The 8GB comes out around the time of my birthday so I'll have my fingers crossed that it's cheap or the 4GB has a big drop on price after the 8GB ... xD

But I might get a car ... so I don't want to be a burden on my family. >.<

i always like getting things that not a lot of people have...everyone has an ipod...i would get an iriver...they look much cuter...

but i admit that having an ipod is more convenient since u can easily get accesories for it...

Mine's an iRiver H10, 6GB. Works like a charm, has been with me for close to a year now (perhaps more).
Plus, it always turns heads cause it's not common (at least not as common as ipods these days).

Around April. They might be late though. 4GB is supposed to be released this month, but I haven't heard anything on the Clix2 since its revealing.

Haha, I still have the PINK iPod Mini! Mine is like almost brand new condition because I don't use it outside of home. I only use it when I'm plugging speakers into it.

i bought the iriver h10 like 3 years ago when it first came out, i used it almost everyday, it never broke down on me, and still...it works like a charm
my sister bought an ipod the same time i bought the h10...not so good anymore lol

depends what you really look for in a mp3player

i look for features (that i would use).

i currently own a clix and will own it until something decent with like 8gb of flash based memory on it.

features are good, video, 2.2" lcd, d-click system, text etc.
some people dont use it but i use all of those functions as they are very helpful.

if you look for something with large capacity, look at the hard drive based series. (30gb ipod, s30 gigabeat, creative zen vision:m, etc)

if you look for something with reasonably large capacity but has a good battery life, get a look at the flash based drives out there ranging from 4-8gb (clix 4gb, nano 4/8gb, sandisk e2xx's).
