How To Make A File Smaller?+ Ringtone Problem!?

1.Hey I was wondering if there is away to make a file smaller? like an audio file.. Im trying to set this song as my ringtone.. but it wont let me because the file is too big..
Ive cut the audio down to the smallest I can , by chopping off some parts of the song.. but it says its too big still.. is there away to make it smaller?

Ringtones are usually 20 seconds.
But other than that, you can decrease the quality... like 128bit down to even 96 or 64 since its only a ringtone. O_O even more..? Mono 64bit.

20 seconds! O_o mines only like 10 and it says its too big.. Yeah .. I can decrease the quality.. Can you tell me how ^^ is there a programe? or a button haha xD

I have couple of full songs on my phones as ringtones. I only use them for alarm clocks, but can also set as ringtone. I use Motorola Phone Tools so it automatically converts it to 32 bit.
You can use SUPER to convert it down even more.

adobe audition. you load the sound clip and save as... and u can save at a different bitrate.

okay here we go. i did some research and they said you can't upload the ringtone as MP3 format because they locked the fone due to some copyright issues and such.
however, to get around this block, you can convert the file to wav or wma format and try it then. be sure to keep the file size below 300 kb.
