Effects Of Technology and should we simplify our lives?

but all this time the realization of the effects in has on our entire lives is pretty staggering...
sometimes I wonder if I could spend a day outside in the park doing my homework, or reading a book... or just taking a calm walk...( i do do that sometimes... but been locked in my room by parents for march break ><)...
and how without so much information overload our lives would be more prioritized and simple. maybe we would be more appreciative of nature and of our surroundings instead of burying ourselves in the lastest news, research, info, thread on Soompi etc etc...
well the information of the internet and tv..etc...media...has some good advantages... we are more knowledgeable..and now we can look up stuff on google and learn whenever we want about new things.
i love that! <3
but still...it's sooo much info...and not all of it's good.
plus there's just so many dang distractions..tv, internet, etc.... and our minds get muddled
how do you guys simplify your info? or more specifically...organize it?
i find that i have 23537574563565 bookmarks.
O___O how do i sort them all ...O___O
or should i delete them all and just save the most common sites i go to.
Lol...
anyway, generally, how do you guys simplify your lives?

Well... to "simplify" my life, I resist the urge to turn on my computer, sit in the living room next to my birds and read a book. If I find a really good book, not turning on the TV/computer is pretty easy. Hanging out with friends at the park is pretty fun too, especially at a playground. But hanging out in aplayground with abunch of teenagers is not a goodidea because people think you're gangsters

But it does suck though where it can damage health. For example, instead of walking around the mall going shopping, we sit on our butts and shop on ebay.
There are other things too. I just forgot what to say.

i think half the world is so dependent on technology we dont know how to go back, if technology fails, does anybody really know how to make stuff from scratch? i tried making fire with rocks and sticks....doesnt work

our generation needs technology because we got used to it already. it suddenly became a necessity...

Like everyone said before, it's too late for us to go back to the way things were.
Switch the Hummer for a horse and buggy and you've got a major international
crisis there. Take away the computer from the teenagers and you'll get riots all
over the world!!! We, as a large race of technology consumers, have gotten so
used to the overflow of this super-tech supply that we don't know anything before
that. Now the question is: where do we go on from here? Do we continue to build
upon this technological foundation or do we think about the effects of this tech-
spree and do something about the negative results of it?

Oh how simple they have made my life! No more annoying phone calls to bother me everywhere I go. Someone just sends me an e-mail and I read on my own free time. So awesome. One of the technology I LOVE!
Anyways, yea...........though tech. is making life simple, it's making life simple by making it complex. Does that make sense? It's a constantly learning to catch up w/tech in this lifetime. But once you catch up, the benefits are great (mostly)!
btw, I organize my bookmarks like this:
School Stuff
Download Sites
Photoshop Tools
Personal Stuff

out and play in the sun -__- But whenever I get bored at home, I always ask
my brother to drive me somewhere, like to the mall or the store, and we
just look around and sometimes stay there for hours looking at stuff xD
That's a lot of walking, yo. O.o
It really does go by fast, but it's a good way to go out and not be at
your computer/tv. When it's sunny here though (like in the summer),
I usually like to go to the park at least once a week and go play at
the playground near my house xD It really isn't that hard to just
leave technology behind for a few hours.
If your parents have time, why don't you ask them to take a walk
with you at the park or something? It's fun =D

I used to walk to the library and through a park often... but it's freezing cold, even in March, here in Canada...haha...
my parents don't go to parks...and the park near my house is always filled with little kids...I feel kinda... weird going there XD. but that's a good idea...when the snow melts and spring comes, that is. If my mother wasn't so strict i'd be out more often =p

anyways, technology is great. if you remember what life was like before google, ugh. i don't even want to think about it. research was so damn tedious. i think it's weird for people to stay in doors all the time and just go online all day long. I know how to utilize technology and it's great but it's not everything. I still go outside when it's nice out and go to the beach with my friends. people who stay home on a sunny day and spend hours and hours online and never go out are lame.

lol about google...gosh google is like a best friend...jking.
Are you saying I'm lame?
lol in gr 10 i used to stay in A LOT even in the summer because I was..lonely? (just moved)... and missed my old friends...but they lived so far...
(well at least i had summer job at the theatre with free movies..so that made me go out a bit)
but yeah, if it's good weather and i'm at home...it feels so 'stuffy'.
the weather's getting better now! ^O^ I joined the soccer team @ school, so that should be a good thing.
ps. tech does make me a lot lazier, though I still really love books. even more than the internet. it's also a bad idea to stay inside and read books all the time though ><''
pps. I have a TON of bookmarks, because whenever I come across an interesting site or a site with a lot of useful info I bookmark it. plus, I have a HUGE amount of interests - reading, writing, art, crafts, graphics, info, forums, etc etc etc. Gosh, you won't believe how the numbers of sites add up. The truth though, is, that I add the bookmark, but never really go back to the site I bookmarked. I'm on soompi a lot though ^^... and email, facebook... hm... that's it?
