Ahem...ATTENTION!!
BEFORE YOU READ.... PLEASE NOTE THAT IT IS 2AM ... AND MY MIND
IS FULL OF ALL THIS !#@!&#*!^#!&* ... CRAP. lol
I mIGHT SOUND OFF TOPIC OR MAY NOT MAKE SENSE, BUT ITS CUZ
I DONT KNOW HOW TO EXPRESS MY WORDS BY TYPING... BARE WITH ME...
1. MATERIAL WORLD.
Well, maybe I just like to think alot, and talk alot but in my opinion,
the asian american community have lost touch with the world around them.
Instead of appreciating the world, they are enticed by what the world offers.... and it never lasts.
The asian community, ESPECIALLY KOREAN, scares the hell out of me....
Am I the only one disturbed by the fact that 4 year olds have PSP's and Nintendo DS?
And 3rd graders have cell phones?
The Korean parental community... oh, I know well. And I know how they work.
The wealthy Korean parents give things to young children like cell phones, mp3's, etc
because they think that it will make the kid happy, or it is a necessity.
But is it really needed?
Hey guys! Ever heard of "WORKING FOR YOUR SH*T?" :D it's healthy.
2. CORRUPTED VIEWS
YOu know what I wish I could do?
I wish I could go to South Central L.A, and dance in the rain.
Sounds stupid right? But honestly, I wish I could do that. Why cant I do that?
Well ... its CENTRAL LA. Your asian, your dancing? Umm.. your going to get shot!!!
Right??.....
To prove my point, everyone probably thinks that what I said is true.
No, you wont get shot. That is a stupid assumption that was started by people who have never
even BEEN in the ghettos.
But, its a popular misconception, that many people now BELIEVE.....
isnt it sad? because the ghettos is filled with blacks and hispanics, that asians
would automatically think, "it isnt safe there...."
why do we think that way?
Another...
I hate it when people say, "he MUST BE ON CRACK"
referring to incredible artistic skills or something said that is valuable in a eccentric sense.
Why is everything drug related, when something better than ordinary is shown off?
Does that mean that people who have different looks on things are all on DRUGS?
We assume that because WE are so ordinary. WE are so normal. They arent strange...
we are just plain.... THINK ABOUT IT.
whew.. -_____-;;
I just felt the need to post this out on somewhere... (and since im lenting myspace for a while lol i couldnt do it there... )
Maybe nobody at least on HERE, will understand what I see... but if you do,
God willingly, share some insight.
I'm done with this teenage ignorance in the community I live in.
I'm done with so called FRIENDS who are more materialistic than sentimental.
People who would rather get a INFINITY g35, than come to a friend in need..... have lost to the world.
People who would rather buy themselves a nice FENDI bag, than buy their friend a birthday present.... have lost to the world.
People who spend all day watching MTV rather than spending time with their family..... have lost to the world.
What exactly do you think about each day?
How much to save up for your next outfit?
How to get that hottie's attention?
Trying to be PRETTIER, and HOTTER, and BETTER than your friends and people around you?
Losing soul. You've lost to the world.
NOTE: Before you all go "HUH? " or think im some "OLD MAN" going through midlife crisis and is probably "CAUCASIAN"... -____-;
I'm 19 years YOUNG. Freshmen in college.... and Im KOREAN.
I just think alot -____-;;
but it sure would be NICE to know that people think the way I do....

i think los angeles is a nice city. mayor villaraigosa is doing a fine job. BUT i dont like the idea that tuition is increasing! 10% more for Cal States and 7% for UCs. yikes! i better hurry up and graduate!
who cares if korean kids are getting PSPs. their parents are working 24/7 in los angeles doing wholesale, liquor stores, swapmeet, other businesses. they need to do at least something to make up the of loss of time with their children. PSP now and G35s/350z when their 16.
i personally want a mazda 6.

I can't really say that I can agree completly with you because my 9yr old sister has a PSP, but, what I can say is that the world is changing. I can say that it might be losing its soul. I can say that the youngsters have become more materialized, I'm glad that you've noticed. I'm sure A LOT of people have noticed these changes. The question though is really, what can we do about it? Because I'm lost for ideas.

True, nothg we can do about it. Everyone will want to grow up faster. The game hopscotch is the thing of the past.
And as you said wealthy parents who support their kids into buying expensive games instead of teaching them to
create their own are teaching thier own kids to be materialistic just like them... But we ARE spoilt aren't we? compared
those who have lived here longer than us...so we can really complain about the next generation because a few years before we were those younger kids..just technology has gotten so good

Those young kids with mp3s, handphones, etc are really disturbing. They'd probably begged for it from their parents so they can brag about it in school. The kids these days are really spoiled.
The world has changed so much, people are just getting oblivious to things. People don't pay attention to these things anymore. It doesn't shock people as much as it used to when young kids are being so materialistic.
I still feel quite sad about materialism. Everyone seems to be constantly obsessed about getting new things they don't need but want. It's influencing everyone.
As for corrupted views, I'm not sure what to say.

I'm not totally against the whole materialism thing.
Wealthy parent gives things to their children maybe because they want their children to live a good life and not the hard life that themselves experienced. But some just doesn't know the limit.
Some things I feel "no no " about:
- Girls about 8-14 wears ton of makeup and dresses in a slutty way
- Small girls with a brand purse that is twice their size and act like they are all that
- Small kids with a cellphone - radiation=not good
