why the heck would you want to swap a motor if you get a new car?
Unless you are getting a sweet deal on the motor then I would do it.
what is the purpose of you swapping motors unless you are going to "race," or the current motor crapped out.
Waste of money.
Save it and invest it and buy a new car later or even better save for a house.

A lot of cars you can't buy or find the motors in the U.S. I daily drove and went on touge runs with my SR, I didn't feel like it was much of a waste. I would have liked to do suspension instead, but I didn't feel like buying a KA24DE and swapping it in so i decided to try out the SR.
I could have gone with putting the money toward a down payment on an S2000 or something, but they I wouldnt really want to have fun in the car considering I would be paying it off, on top of that the price of insurance. You buy an older car and swap motors because A. Insurance is usually cheaper, B. body parts are usually cheaper, C. the aftermarket support for the motor you are swapping. Those are among the most common reasons. I don't know about you guys but I can save and invest later on in life and a little on the side, you only live once.
BTW I have enough money to buy a new car, I invest money on the side, and I play with my car. However, I chose to buy two cars becaues exactly what I said, I like to play with my toys and save as much money as possible with a lil extra cash to upgrade both. A house I can wait until I'm out of college and done with my "I wanna have fun" phase... which will likely last forevar!

from an investment perspective, unlike a car whose value will depreciate, property generally increases its value over time.

because the price can raise in value epecsially if its in a good area =D
but with teh money saved i'd rather do something more affordable liek a downpayment for a condo

yeah my boyfriend and my brother in law are doing the swap themselves.
well i'm still young i dont need a house now.
the engine that i got is from japan.
i didnt want a car payment every month yet.
and this swap makes the value of the car go up BUT then again i dont want to get rid of it.
haha i dont know there was alot of people giving me crap about it and alot of people lovin it but its really what i wanted.
and plus i dont have to pay a penny for labor.

Depending on what you got, you might have trouble down the road.
the only possible swaps that can be done on an accord is a h22a and a f20b

lol. never said it was the "ultimate investment," but it sures beat wasting money on cars.
BTW, smart investors invest in Real Estate and marketable securities not cars. Usually, when you put all the parts and money into a car, the value does nt appreciates. In fact, most car has better value when it is in stock form.
hey if you are young and want to play with cars that's fine, but i hope they grow out it or has extra disposable income to do so.

actually some people would like aftermarket cars because they probably dont know how to modify it themselves. but i know what u mean on investing on a house because u do need a place to live but investing on a house didnt even cross my mind until i read your post haha.
i got an h22a that came with everything it needed also lsd tranny and ecu. hmmm what kinda problems do u think i might have down the road?
hahah yeah its jdm plus accords are more light weight than preludes.
u can also do a k20 swap but u gotta modify the motor mount i was gonna go wit the k20 but then i didnt want to pay for labor but the motor was cheaper than the h22

Tuning problems. I've heard of a dozen H22a swapped cars and alot of them have a hard time tuning. But if you can get it tuned, it's gonna be sweet.
Post some pics when it gets finished, please.

I am assuming you meant the k20a3 motor. the weak and cheaper swap when compared to k20a2, k20a, k20z1 motors. Any single of these 3 motor swaps can buy two complete h22a swaps and to make it work in any other chassis than an rsx, will costs nearly 3 times as much than a h22a swap.

lol.. theres actually no problems tuning an h22a. you need engine management to tune the motor. for hondas, there are many engine management to choose from.
