I just received a pet fish from my friend. I do not know what kind of fish is it. Can anyone tell just by looking? I'm sure it's not a goldfish...

Thank you!

you have a COMET also known as a feeder fish... they cost about 20-25 cent each, but that live a long life and can grow up to 12 inches.... i have 5 currently i got them when they were a inch long now they are over 6 inches long..... They are freshwater and can live in almost any temp. I keep them in a 10 gallon tank with a filter and gravel and lighting... After they get to be about 2 inches i replace them in my 100 Gallon tank with my koi.....

They are easy to take care of so good luck =] and hopefully it lives a long life and grows up to 12 inches =]

I thought my dog was gay when he did that with another dog - or when another dog did that to him. Turns out it was for dominance.

any ways 2 question

question number 1, is there a way to reduce dog farts. My dog farts A LOT in my room. I swear he let out a loud one once and scared me. Other times its silent smelly one.

2nd one,

i mentioned my dog breed a page? back, but don't cheat - Im actually curious and he doesn't look like a pure bred too compared to others ive seen. I haven't seen the papers from him, don't know if we ever got them because he was a pet store/ probably a puppy mill dog.

I get "he looks like a fox" a lot and he's not a fox lol. I wondered if he could of been mixed.

dogs farts---- how to reduce it? the only thing i can recommend is feed your dog only dry dog food no wet food and no human food. Dogs fart naturally like us ,so you cant completely get rid of it

and your dog looks like a tri- color shiba... if she or he isnt i would said a mix of a shiba and a shepherd.

it looks like a lab beagle mix. a hound n lab... the color is a lab color n the head marking is a beagles. the little white part on the head

Yes, thank you for your information. I took her to the animal hospital a month ago, the doctor said she's a beagle mix, but he's not 100% sure in which other breed she's mixed with. I guess she's a Labrador retriever in between?

Dogs don't have periods, they go into heat^^ Be careful and make sure she doesn't get around any unfixed males. Humping isn't just a mating behavior, it can also be about dominance. So it's very unlikely that they're lesbians tongue.gif How old is Poppy? Is this her first heat? You should look into getting her fixed, because unfixed females have high risks of developing things like Pyometra and Breast cancer (she has a near zero chance of it if she is spayed before her first heat, this increases to just under 10% chance after her first cycle, and increases yet again to about 25% chance after her second heat.)

Rudy is really cute, you should post a pic of Poppy too smile.gif

Dogs don't have period? Though there's blood?

I thought I posted Poppy's pictures in the back pages? Or am I just imaging things again, oh well, it doesn't hurt to get them again. Here you go, she's a chihuahua and turning 8 years old. =)

Hahahaha, I had an issue sort of like that with my males cats! I had two boys that were not neutered, and they started to bite each others neck and then try to mount each other from behind. Funny thing is my fixed male cat that is 13 years old started in too. It was the weirdest thing. I got my two boys fixed, and they stopped doing it. However, the other cat still tried to do it until for a little while after the other two were fixed until he realized that they weren't doing it anymore.

I just think my two were horny, and the other cat just wanted to fit in and be like them. Hahaha, but it was so weird.

Lol, thank you for your post. I realized my two dogs are perfectly normal. I guess Poppy is just blinded by puppies, she's trying so hard to get pregnant. Hopefully, she'll soon realize that Ruby is a girl, too. =P

one of my dogs is named poppy too!
well kind of. haha shes poppi not poppy.
: DD

uhm. i think theyre just playing?
when i had only my first two dogs, one was a boy and the other a girl, and the girl would hump the boy on her period. but the boy never touched her.

can dogs be homosexual though?

Haha, what a cute coincidence. But they're apparently not playing. Poppy flirts (??) with Ruby before they get it "on", like she wags her tail to temptate Ruby and yeah. sleep.gif

dogs go throught heat even tho its blood like humans its called heat.....For people we have period and if anything happens we have a low risk of getting pregnant.... for dogs... they mate while the female is having their heat(period). I know its weird mating during bleeding.... but thats that difference between humans and dogs....

So becareful your female doesnt go near a male dog that isnt neutered while she is in heat.

we give him dry food, i guess i should tell my grandma to stop giving my dog food.
yeah he's a tri colour shiba..a lot of people ask if he's a shepherd.

So my dog humped my leg...so how can you differentiate a sign of dominance, or a horny dog? he's neutered, so i dont know if its normal for dogs to do that..

My oldest boy is neutered too - he likes standing up to hump the couch. I wanna know too. 'Cause I don't see any domination in a couch...

hahaha yes it is normal for dogs to do this..... even if they are neutered they will do it...

and your dog definately! look like a TRI COLOR SHIBA! they are rare so people think its a mix lol i memorized almost all the dog breeds and about them so i no ^^ i still got lots to learn =[

people might think its a mix of a shep. and shiba cuz of the size.. your shiba seems a lot bigger than what it should be....
first thing that popped up in my head was its a TRI COLOR!!!! but you wrote like dont look back and stuff so i was like eh? is it a mix or pure? but i knew it was a tri =] he is really cute =]

and for the humping thing.... when it humps just sai no and knee your dog in the chest lightly
and when it sits or goes away sai good boy and give it a treat....

i did that with my dog and now it humps everything but me lol

and try to give your dog this product ====> Blue Buffalo Dog Food
they are all natural stuff in there so the fart wont smell as bad....

My dog is vomiting and he has mad diarrhea right now. I honestly don't know what's wrong with him. He eats only dog food. I switched his dog food a little over a week ago. Could that be why he's doing that?

it's possible, especially if you know he hasn't eaten anything else. Maybe something in the new food that doesn't agree w/ him? How long a period did you take to switch his food over? It usually took us about a week, maybe 2--of mixing the new stuff with the old, gradually giving more new stuff and taking away the old food--we never had any problems. How long has he been throwing up/having upset stomach? You might want to take him to his vet, just to check him out, if it's been more than a couple of days.

I switched it right away. O_O I didn't know we had to slowly switch his food. Yesterday morning, I saw that he wasn't feeling well and I saw him vomit. But when I came home after school, he was all happy and jumpy again. So I took it as he was feeling okay again. Then this morning, he's looking horrible. Even worst than he did yesterday morning. He's laying in one place. Not drinking and water, not eating. And he's still vomiting. He's a lot skinner now. sad.gif

I'd take him to the vet. At least let them check him. It sounds like it's been going on more than it should. You said he's lost weight--he may be getting dehydrated too. t_t You might want to take a stool sample also. I hope whatever it is straightens out, and he feels better soon. >< And yeah, it's better to mix and change the food over gradually, because it gives their bodies a chance to get used to it.

It might not be that you switched foods--but something in the food that he's having a bad reaction to.

I'm taking him to the vet tomorrow. My sister was supposed to today (since I was not at home), but she bailed out. However, I went to Petco and they gave me this tube with some thick thing inside like peanut butter. I forget what it was called, but it's supposed to help him regain his energy. Then they told me to buy him Pedialyte since he's dehydrated.

He has worms. It was in his stool. First, it came out like water and red, then the worm came out. As disgusting as it sounds. >< Ugh... I should have taken him to the vet right away. But I lagged on it and relied on someone like my sister. Bleh. Hopefully he will be okay.

Thank you for all the help, MythnoonA. I really appreciate it. smile.gif

ohhh another question, my shiba has excess fur around his neck. is there a way to reduce it? He looks huge when he lies down and your looking at him straight on.

I know he's not over weight since we weighed him, he's 22 pnds and shibas are 23 pnds the most.

Sounds like his skin's irritated and that's caused some of the fur to drop out. Is it itching? Causing him any discomfort? I'd just keep an eye on it for a couple of days, make sure it's clean and not getting any worse. If it does start to get worse then take him for a check up smile.gif

To all the dog owners, what brand of dog food are you feeding your dog?

I feed my little guy Science Diet/Natural Life. He's still eating canned food cause his teeth haven't developed enough to where he can eat hard food yet, but occasionally I'll mix some of the hard food into the soft food just so he gets used to the taste of the Science Diet food.

Anyways! Here he is biggrin.gifD Little Benji :DDDD

And here he is with his brothers- they're all the sage age in this picture (7 weeks old). My boyfriend owns the other two so we're always taking them on playdates XD
