i think it's safe to just not have the link, whether it's advertising or not,
because i guess in a way it could be seen as advertising(:
you could mention the company as COASTALCONTACTS instead of putting the .com at the end to show where you can purchase them=)
muchlove!

man, i need to smuggle you in to work on monday so you can understand more. because: we are known as coastalcontacts.com not as coastalcontacts for usa. just as our canadain marketing, we known as clearlycontacts.ca and not as clearlycontacts. that is how we market it and that is the name of it for those countries. so basically it is the name of it. I hope you can understand that =)
but anyhoo, when i first saw that it was sensored, i already pm'd one of the mods on the beauty forum, i was really upset cuz it was unjust.
its like this: usa= Johnson and Johnson, Canada=Johnson and Johnson Canada.
and because of that difference, there is a reason why some products are not available in Canada and vice versa. So, it is illegal to ship/sell things in a different country if not marketed legally in that area. =)
There are people on the forum that do live in canada and whether you can or cannot ship to the US. That doesnt matter.
BUT i am kinda leaning on your side of the argument or whatever we can call it.
For example giving out medical advices is against the rule, but we still do it anyways. THAT IS BREAKING THE RULE.
but nobodys posts ever get edited for that , no right?
Why is one thing okay and another not?
Also stating the name of the company you work for-Your post was edited due to the fact that you stated a website where you can purchase lenses, however WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO POST ANY LINKS REFERRING TO LENSES. RIGHT?
But like you have said. you were not LINKING us or telling us where to get lenses. you were just simply naming the company you work for.
But when the mods see it, it looks as if you were BREAKING THE RULE by giving us information about where we can purchase lenses,
BUT, On your part, you were just stating a name of a company.
I think that THIS subject is also debatable i guess u can say because
on this thread we post names of contact lenses companies like g&g or bescon
G&G and BESCON are companies that use their company name for their websites.
you dont even have to put .com or .ca or co.kr or whatever , u can just type that name on your web explorer and it will take you to that site which will give you information on how to purchase the circle lenses.
if hiphop was breaking the rule for stating the company she works for, is everybody that talks about circle lenses and the companies breaking the rules also??
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I wasn't trying to be rude by butting in to you guys arguments but i believe that every rule should be reinforced equally.

the reason i edited it is because you didn't just state, oh i work at a contacts place, but after that statement u wrote the url and considering there is also a disclaimer that states, This thread is to share pictures and discuss all things related to circle contact lenses i'm not sure why u wrote the link in the first place because,
Consequences- AUTO WARN/REMOVAL/PM or sometimes dependant on item
Illegal products (including items you cannot sell to minors (under 16 even if you are of age)
- Sell only LEGIT/AUTHENTIC ITEMS
* burned/pirated CD/DVD/disc/tapes of any sort
* drugs, pots, bongs, tobacco, liquor (alchohol), any controlled substances
* prescription items of any sort (pills, creams, glasses etc that are prescribed by the doctors)
* any sort of contact lens
i hope this clarifies everything for everyone, if anyone still has questions then pm me, pls do not convo in this thread that is unrelated to the topic.
edit - the medical advice rule is pertaining to serious issues in which ppl create threads that can only be authenticated by a certifed doctor and NOT the reason why i edited hiphop's post, things like OMG i burned myself and i won't stop bleeding has this happened to anyone.. yadda yadda if it's an emergency undoubtedly you should go see a doctor and not take the time to post on soompi.
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don't much care where--" said Alice.
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go,' said the Cat.

Thanks, hiphop -- for pointing that rule out regarding my previous post. Otherwise, I wouldn't have known. ^^;;
Though the question I asked wasn't technically medical advice, was it?
I know very well that lenses have their varying lifespans, but I've had this strange thought that maybe they disintegrate when expiration time comes along. Maybe it had to do with my friend's story on how her [regular] contact lenses broke in half. o___o Thus, why I asked. It was just out of bizarre curiosity, really. ;]

as mentioned, the beauty forum has advised this rule:
4. DO NOT ASK FOR SPECIFIC MEDICAL ADVICE
Obviously, the majority of soompiers are around the same age and thus the knowledge is equal as well.
Soompiers are not certified to give serious medical advice, so PLEASE consult your doctor.
However, the person that started this thread gave advice. I'm not an optician and by law (at my province), i'm not suppose to offer any medical advice at my work place and only licensed opticians can. People that are interested or have questions in regards to contacts are advised to seek medical help, or EMAIL CERTIFIED CONTACT LENSES SITES (THAT HAVE OPTICIANS) TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS. So.. why isn't this sensored? I'm confused here too. yes there is a disclamer but I still don't get it.
Maybe I'm just a bit sensitive because this hasn't happened to me before. I've been on soompi for a long time... and I follow the rules religiously (even when soompi first started, the rules weren't complicated), I wouldn't do anything stupid or say anything offensive because I strongly believe that even though this is online, I should treat everyone with respect and follow the rules.
BUT i am kinda leaning on your side of the argument or whatever we can call it.
For example giving out medical advices is against the rule, but we still do it anyways. THAT IS BREAKING THE RULE.

I started this thread as a general FAQ. I'm not claiming anything that needs to be certified by an optometrist.
For example, if someone wants to know if people with astigmatism can wear circle lenses, it's no secret that a company makes an FDA approved product specifically for astigmatism.
Contact lens care is not subject to medical advice as well. You can buy cleaning solution at your local pharmacy and read the directions on the box. Again, not subject to an optometrist.
I understand why the rules may seem confusing, but I'm not a mod, so I can't say anything on soompi's behalf.
But to be safe, if your company is called blahblahblah.com and they sell circle lenses as well as regular contacts only to be obtained by prescription, please just omit that part of the name. A company chooses their name as a way to advertise. If by chance the company wants to add ".com" to their official company name, then yes, it IS still advertising.
We call companies G&G and Bescon, and anyone can google them or guess their company website, but they are manufactures, not second party distributors.
I don't want to keep this discussion up , so let's leave it at this: eBay.com can be called eBay, so let's not make this a big deal.

Is there any physical sign that lets you know when you should throw your contacts away? O:
Or must you just keep track of the time yourself and just throw them out whenever?
i dont think this is considered medical advice
she's asking how you can tell youre contacts are expired
... im also wondering this too lol
so yeah
how do you know
is there anything like...
it goes harder? cloudy, shrivels... etc?
