ever since i permed my hair at the beginning of the year (i got a curly perm), my hair has become really dry-looking and brittle. i really regret it now because it used to be straight, shiny, and (somewhat) healthy before the perm. do you guys have any good products to recommend that can restore my hair back to the healthy days? i noticed a lot of girls use biosilk...is that effective much? i use pantene pro-v hair mask but i don't think it's helping
i'm going to start straightening my hair now, so my hair condition is going to get worse -
do you guys apply treatment into your hair before you guys straighten? my hair wasn't really damaged before the perm so i would straighten it without anything, and it would still be fine. but now... mellow.gif don't think i can do that.
thanks in advance~~

Why straighten it? More heat can damage it further. but if you must you should use a heat protectant if you straighen with blowdryer or flat iron. I would suggest you use olive oil as a deep conditioner. apply it to your hair. walk around with it on for like 30 or longer. then shampoo and condition your hair. There are some other products i can recommend too that have helped turn my hair around. it used to be like straw! but now lots softer and way less damage. you can pm me if you want. No i'm not selling anything, no worries! smile.gif

To get back your healthy hair,
1. Don't use Pantene. It'll just further damage your hair.
2. Biosilk is good but it won't help as much as you want it.
3. Condition your hair with leave in condition or go for oil treatments.
4. Wait until every thing grows out. Remember to trim it once it a while.

For straightening your hair,
1. Wait until your hair is normal again because it's damaged enough.
2. When you do straighten your hair use protectant.

My hair was pretty damaged before because of all the blow drying i did to my hair. I used biosilk for a little while and i guess it was good, but its not THAT good. Now i use Bed Head After-Party, which is a smoothing cream to make your hair silky, shiny, and healthy! My hair improved a whole lot after using this for a while.

I got a perm in January too and my hair's been pretty dry. I've been using lots of hair masks and hot oil treatments and it seems to be getting better. It didn't help that there were two dye jobs on top of that perm... poor hair. sad.gif Anyway, and yeah, you definitely have to get your ends trimmed regularly.

My hair is super damaged as well... =P
I've magic straightened/ digital permed/ dyed my hair sooo many times =.="

It was especially worse after i recently permed it... but my hairdresser told me to use this oil in my hair everyday to prevent more split ends and heal it...
Its not hot oil.. andyou have to spray it on ur hand and massage it into ur hair... it works pretty well... ^^
I think u can just get it at ur local pharmacy or supermarket =D
Although my hair isnt back to its original healthiness... its alot better and shinier...

You can get hot oil treatments at walgreens, walmart, drugstores grocery. Suave, vo5 any brand. they are in the shampoo/conditioner aisle. if you don't have it. use olive oil heat a bit. apply. then rinse out. you can use before you shampoo and condition if you want.

vo5 is a good brand! i noticed a difference right away, and my coworkers even ask me why my hair isn't frizzy lol. i was like, what?? usually my hair sucks but after using it, it's all hydrated.

i recommend using Elastine hydrating shampoo and conditioner if you can find it.

i should've bought biosilk hydrating shampoo but instead opted for volume. >.<
Thought I couldn't live without you
It's gonna hurt when it heals too
Even though I really loved you

well depending on hair, result can be just oily hair or..possibly 'ok' hair

but if your hair's really really REALLY dry and have split ends and like really..uhm let's say pubic hair looking? hahaha
can't improve THAT much
don't wash your hair too much, maybe once every two days
or on weekends don't wash at all
conditioner, only apply them on the EDGESSS
despite it all, conditioner restore oil loss by shampooing and since roots produce many many oils, not use in getting it in there
so when it seems to get okay, you can go back to washing hair regularly
o yea don't straighten your hair
i have super healthy hair and after about half a year of using straightner, my hair's started showing signs of split ends so getting them copped off

overall the best way is to cut them off..=T
