So i am deciding my university right now and let's just not talk about Schulich, so ive heard how great and presitiougus it is, I got the point. For other schools besides Schulich ..

Ryerson Business Management
University of Toronto, St George Accounting and Finance (Bcomm Prog)
University of Toronto, Scarborough Management

Can any one tell me more about these proams? I've read the websites but from students perspective, which is better for Marketing management? Or a better business prog in general.

UTSG's commerce program...kinda hard to get in. Most people I know had 88+ avg's or tons of extracurricular with a slightly lower average. First year commerce is general to all commerce programs. Only a 2.0 gpa in first year is required for guaranteed admission into the program in 2nd year (because after 1st year, other arts & science students can also apply to get into commerce...more on that later). First year mandatory courses include ECO 100 (economics), MGT 120 (management/accounting), COM 110 (basically a history of commerce), and MAT 133 (financial math, and some integration). You must achieve a 67% in ECO 100, a 63% in MGT 120, and pass MAT 133. You still have room for 1.5 electives for a total of 5 credits in first year. I think in 3rd year you get to specialize in the field you want to go into such as accounting, finance, marketing, HR, etc.

If you want to get into UTSG commerce, but don't get in straight out of highschool...make sure you also apply to UTSG for economics. Econ students take almost the same courses as COM kids in first year, with the exception of COM 110 which is exclusively for commerce only. At the end of first year you can apply to the commerce program for 2nd year. Requirements are: 67% in ECO 100, 63% in MGT 120, and a pass in MAT 133 or MAT 135. But those 3 courses must have a minimum average of 70%. An overall gpa of 3.0 is recommended. If you get in, you get to take 2nd year commerce courses except you must take COM 110 as well because you never took it before.

UTSG commerce also has a PEY...Professional Experience Year, which is like co-op. So if you have good enough grades, you can try the PEY where you get paid and gain experience. smile.gif

Yeah...UTSG commerce is my specialty since I am trying to get into commerce for my 2nd year lol. Sorry I can't provide much insight into Ryerson.
