I think most of the korean american kids taking this exam are like that - well I know I am. I might be fluent but my grammatical skills are fairly sucky and theres stupid crap on the test sometimes like proverbs and stuff but mostly it should be answerable even without prior knowledge.
Im taking the past korean SATIIs as practice ^^ a past teacher of mine is .. well a real teacher and she had some copies & yeah.. good stuff.

I was thinking of taking that next year the next time, depending on how good my skills are at that time... can anyone give an approx. level of difficulty of the test? I'll be in Korean 3 at that time, but I'm not sure how much I'll need to know for the test. I'm not of Korean origin, so I'm wondering if my level will be high enough to take it...? What do you all think, truthfully? I don't want to waste my time if it's too hard -__-
I dont think it will be too hard but you need to know things like Korean sounds/descriptions/phrases.. err I dont know how to explain it. Like stars go bbank jak bbank jak (they shine/sparkle)
That kind of stuff. Thats the only difficult thing I can think of if you're not of Korean origin..

I really don't understand it when Korean natives take Korean, Chinese natives take Chinese, Spanish/Hispanic natives take Spanish, etc etc.

Cause the 800's. LOL.
You know how UC's combine your sati & ii's? That 800 can be useful.. ^^;; (because they have this point system thing).

my friend took the test.. he said it was hard.

So they ask about "sounds" of things....? Is the question like "what kind of sounds do stars make?" or what? Like do you remember any types of the questions on the test? I'm just curious to see the level. And when it's called the listening test, does that just mean they play the questions on... speakers or something? Is it more about your ability to understand verbal Korean?

it was more like stars shine ______. and then the answer choices with one of them being bban jjak bban jjak.
anyway i thought it was really easy but i don't know what i'll get. my parents said they'll kill me if i get less than 800 since i was born and raised in korea until i was 8.
