I'm personally torn between two cars. A Ford Escape. Mint condition, pricey, safe SUV and an old Thunderbird. I KNOW I'm safer in the escape (snow, accidents, airbags), but there's just something so ROCKSTAR about that Tbird. Plus, the potential is endless. I could pimp it out with a wild system, exhaust pipes, almost anything I want. It's an old car, but it's in great condition.

So, what do you guys go for when deciding for a car?

lust...? safety...?

why can't you just have a better package that is SAFE and TURNING HEADS?

i am more than sure the thunderbird's safety rating is better than par.

First of all, what year is this tbird you're trying to get? If it's old, you're probably gonna be looking at alot of garage time. These seem to be 2 very different types of vehicles. I think you should narrow down what you're looking for first of all. If utility is what you need and fun is what you want, maybe you should go with the freestyle. Chances are you may regret not getting something you enjoy driving though. I'd suggest a cuv like the Murano or CX-7.

As for what Panda said, I totally agree. Why can't you have something that's both safe and turns heads.
The early bird may get the worm, but, the second mouse gets the cheese in the mouse trap.

they are quite safe from my understanding. Reliability might not be safe but they are safe from where im sitting and that depends on what vehicle you buy from them. Just because a truck/suv is bigger doesnt mean its safer either. Tip-over.

Here's the thing. My father owns a radiator shop and the Tbird came in for sale, and I said don't sell it, I want it. Then he decides to buy a brand new truck and he wants to give me his old truck. So, I'm not really paying so I don't have much selections. I'm sure the Tbird is safe, but I'm not too crazy over rear-wheel drive, and like jowyun said, it probably will have some garage time.

I guess you guys never came across that one car that you just WANT. That you just feel this is YOUR car. I couldn't think of a better word than "lust" laugh.gif

Anyways, this isn't about me and my decision, I was curious what YOU guys would go for.

I've never met an Asian person driving a Tbird....... just Mexicans. I even have Mexican friends call it the "Beaner Car". haha they're ugly, in my opinion.. not to offend you but look for something better where you can have looks+safety in one

Also since you asked to see what others would go for........ I would go for the REAR wheel drive car.. because they're fun biggrin.gif

...if you're going to get a ford, get one that's a classic. preferrably from the 1960's
