I'm going to college soon! (Yay for me) but the question is.. Is it good to do work/study for freshmen year? I know I am going to have a lot of classes because I might do double major (Psychology and Christian Education/Ministry) at the same time. I still have to take my general too. x_x I believe that I am going to die on the first year. The thing is.. At Northwestern College, they required atleast 8 - 15 hours per week (no more than 20 hrs) and pay about $10-20, depending where they assign me or where I want to work at. I am thinking about working at the cafeteria (cause I love food) and the most high paid job. If not, should I work at the library instead? I really need a job. ;_;
I really want to cram myself so that I won't be on internet 24/7 when I'm in college. Maybe not too cram but atleast it keeps me busy all day. x]
Thanks,

most jobs end at 5pm (office hours). you can work 8-10 hours and still be fine. believe me though, it's a bit tiring at first. once you get used to it, though, it's not so bad.
i would say go 8 hrs a week 1st semester, and then once you get the hang of it, maybe 10 hours or so 2nd semester.
also, employers realize that you are a student first, worker second. they are usually very generous in letting you off for the day or two if you're busy with a lot of schoolwork.
