Hi, I'm a High School senior and am wondering if anyone knows if Cal Poly's English program is any good. I am also wondering what are the most popular fields of study in Cal Poly Pomona besides Landscape Arch. and Arch..

^ English program is divided between teaching English & English lit.
If you want to teach English, then it's decent. I haven't heard anything about English lit. though.

i'd say architecture, HRM & engineering programs are the most popular from what i've seen.
Architecture (landscape architecture not included) is the only impacted program though.

HRM as in like,.. hotel restaurant mgmt right? or HRT?
im an HRT major, and i like it~ it's not a hard major,.. it's fun actually
i guess it depends on whether you're more into hotels or restaurants, etc...

can anyone recommend an easy class with little work that fulfills the general ed C4 section? it's humanities synthesis. i don't really care what topic it is. i'm just really tired of choosing and taking GEs...they just never end.

take EWS 425 (?) - women, identity and technology with professor ling. that was an easy ass class. lecture/presentation tuesdays, study periods thursday. no midterms or finals.

^ haha, yeah, i meant lin. it was like, 5 group papers and two overall presentations. and attendance i guess. it sounds like a lot, but you have till the end of the quarter to turn in the papers--again, group papers.

lulz i just got accepted today even though i have a D in spanish 3. admissions lady said i have to get a C next semester in order to keep my admission. spanish is toughhhh for me ><.

still, idk if im gonna go or not... i might wanna go to junior college to transfer to a UC... i might go to a cal state and try to transfer to a UC as well. any words of advice?

btw hows the enviroment at pomona? lot of asians?? lol.

^ CSUs and UCs are cutting down on undergrad acceptances, so that's a tough call to make. there's nothing wrong with a cal state, but if you're confident enough to transfer from a community college into a UC, go for it.

i'm not in ebusiness, frl, or tom...(i took TOM...didn't like it..if you like inventory stuff..go for it) Maybe you can try MHR..i think its pretty interesting so far.
