It's my second year as a Hotel and Restaurant Management major and I like it I guess. I am still a little uncertain of what I want to do after I graduate, but certain that it'll be something to do with business. I do have a tip if you do choose to come here:
ENROLL IN THE 4 YEAR PLAN. You have absolutely nothing to lose if you enroll in it, you get priority registration for classes. All you have to do is maintain an above average GPA. I regret not enrolling in the program because I didn't really know what it was about until too late. Also when choosing classes use this site: www.gradecalpoly.com. It is such a crazy ass site that gives reviews of all the teachers in depth, arranges schedules for you, and lets you know what books you need.
ATTENTION TO BUSINESS MAJORS: There's this business fraternity I recently joined called
Delta Sigma Pi. For all those in the business majors please consider joining for this is a great chance to
meet new people,
enhance your college experience,
get involved in the world of business,
have fun while learning about professionalism! I can't tell you how much joining has helped me out in school already because this fraternity is built up of all these people that are in your major and have taken all your classes you get all sorts of perks from books to reservations for spots in your classes! (That is kind of a side benefit that isn't really mentioned.)
Some other activities that we do throughout the school year include:
- Professional events (etiquette dinner, fencing, guest speakers, etc.)
- Community Service events (visit hospitals, spend time with orphans, etc.)
- Fund raising events (work at stadiums, promote for stuff, etc.)
- Social events (clubbing, parties, dinners, movies, bowling, etc.)
If you are interested in joining drop me a message!
