I never actually looked at my total gpa because i don't know how to calculate it. (sadly) There's the new way now right? All final year grades average together? I totally screwed up freshman year. All B's. No A's. Will this affect my gpa really badly if i did well all the other years?

yeah my cumulative gpa is all of my final grades averaged. it might drop your final gpa a little bit but schools will also see that youve improved from freshman year. no big.

You're better off than many people if you only messed around freshman year. Actually, you're way better off than me: I did pretty well freshman year, really well sophomore year...then TERRIBLY junior year. Even though I've had perfect grades all of senior year so far, I'm still somewhat screwed because junior year is counted more than any other year in the admissions process. Some colleges don't even count freshman year, which works against me but works in your favor.
Look, it's already over. You can't change it, so just keep working hard from now to the very end if you've been doing well since then. It will help that you've improved, because upward trends are considered favorably. Of all the years to screw up, freshman year is the year to do it.

Hey, look! Finally a different signature after all these years!

3.0 freshman year??? oh god...
my two worst years in HS were sophomore and junior years..but those weren't fully within my control (pretty crazy family issues)...but hey...it's not the end of the world
you'll be fine as long as you just keep on improving

All B's is a 3.0 for my grading scale. No problem because I got a 3.0 and still got accepted to four college. A 3.0 is better than a 2.5.

colleges LOVE to see improvement. seriously!!
kids at my school..they started with all regular classes and finally took honors/ap beginning of 11th and 12th. and they got into the UCs.
whereas...i took honors/ap since freshman year...and i got rejected from one of the UC.
