I started being more aware of the stuff I eat when I was 15/16. Before that, i would&could eat ANYTHING and get realllllllllllly full WITHOUT feeling guilty at all! Seriously. It didn't bother me at all. I wasn't fat though because I had crazy volleyball practices (5 times a week. hardcore-- which also explains my big appetite) . I stopped when I was 14 (I wish I never had :/) and continued eating the same amount of food until i realized that i was packing up pounds and finally decided that it was time to watch what i eat. =/

I'm very health conscious now and iI count my calories too. The last time I ate fast food was...half a year ago! Which says a lot because I used to eat mcds every week or two.

what about yall?

ps. it bothers me a lot when i read about 5th graders being anorexic and all because they lose..a part of their childhood just like that. a child is supposed to be all carefree and happy isn't it? =/

Well it started at 17 for me but I really didn't get into it until this year when I turned 18, I mean I was always concious but now it's like on a new level, I'm not like going crazy dieting but I'm trying to cut-off some of the stuff that was bad for me.

I remember when people used to say that i was so skinny and it didn't affect me but looking back now I guess I felt really great when they said it and as they don't say it bvery much now, I guess it just got to me. I started counting calories last year but now I've become more involved in it.

I started when I was 13. Before that, I used to eat a lot of meat and fats, and was chubby for a while. But now, I'm kinda skinny cos I watched what I ate and literally did exercise to get back to being skinny.

My friends think it's stupid to count calories but for me, I think it makes a difference as long as you don't overdo. I always look at what I am going to eat before putting it in my mouth laugh.gif It's not a habit or anything really, for me, it's sort of part of healthy eating. You need to know what you're consuming at all times XD

chubby & fat to normal. i miss eatting whatever i want without feeling guilty

Now ( 23) I watch what I eat b.c I dont' want to get sick..like having stomach ache.... I dont eat a lot of hot food/greasy like I used to anymore b/c I will get upset stomach ...greasy food gives me headache.

when i was 13, i used to check calories of everything and judged if it was worth it. like one chip ahoy cookie (my mom bought all the time), has 90 calories! it's so small too. n u never eat just one. yeah, that's when i stopped eating cookies. i started again when i was 17 though lol. i still check calories n stuff, but i ignore it a lot of times.

I voted 'never'... unless you count the times I ate less fatty food so my skin would be nicer? Because I voted based on problems with weight...

When i was turning 17.. i put myself on a strict diet the whole summer vacation and lost 15lbs. I can't believe how determined i was back then O_O..

some of you realized it so much earlier than i did =.=

i mean... i remember i was around.... under 10 years old... and i didnt eat candy because
i thought that too much sugar would get me fat.
i already knew what 'being fat' was so that's why i did that.

but afterwards, i started eating sweets again.
because as a child, you love sweets.

but then, i dont watch what i eat.
because i believe that you have one life, this life..
and you must eat and treat yourself to the yummies of this world.

oh... steaming rice.... chicken....

=P I never cared. Back when I was at a "normal" (meaning chubby) size, I was too young to notice or care about what other people thought. But then when I entered 5th grade, for some reason, I can't gain weight no matter how much I eat (trust me, my parents literately stuffed me like a turkey). I only grew with the food. x_x So I've stayed at a weight of 95 even when I went from 4'10" to 5' 5".

It wasn't until a few months ago that I went for a physical examination for the new school year that the doctor tested and confirmed that I had a metabolism disorder where the rate in which I digest my food is super naturally fast.

So now I'm eating things about 2-3 times more than regular people in order to keep my hunger away... But people still call me anorexic. dry.gif Until they see me eat. mellow.gif

honestly before that
i pigged out on everything
and i began to notice when i was 13
that i was flabby
but i was never fat.. stupid me
but whatever
its the past
i dont really care about it THAT much anymore though.

I started just recently when the school year started. I was 16 then, still 16 now.
I've been skinny my whle life without eating healthy, then I finally realized that I got bigger!
I went up from a size 1 jeans, to a 3 pushing a 5? T_T

i'm 17 now and about 1 1/2 months ago i started SERIOUSLY watching what went into my mouth. however, during late elementary and middle school, i went on weight watchers & the atkins diet (both at different times, though i did atkins twice) and was super conscious about food for awhile. after i lost 20 lbs on my second go with atkins i don't know what happened, i just.. went back to my old eating habits. i gained all my weight back and then some, lol! buuuuut, now i am eating healthy & correctly FOR REAL this time, this time it is a lifestyle change!

During the summer of sixth going to seventh grade, I started watching what I ate. I started getting taller and my body leaner. I loved it. But then I started to eat as I pleased and such and now my body has gotten to be "average"-sized. I want to be lean again. Maybe I should start watching what I eat again.
