my hair always seems more dead when i wash my hair in warm/hot water. it's just a lot harder to brush even though i use conditioner. but when i wash my hair w/ cold water it seems more soft & shiny - has anyone else ever wondered/experienced this or is it just me lol?

yeah hotter water gets rid of oil more so it dries out u r hair. i use hot when im extra greasy. and something about cold water closes the follicles (sp? the scale things) on u r hair and it seems shinier and better. something like that not 100% sure.

I think you mean the cuticle?

But yeah, I can`t stand cold water since I take showers and if it`s cold, It makes me cold. I tried it once and it does make my hair smoother. Hot water would dry your hair a bit since everything hot does (straighter, blowdryer etc.)
You have to remember that COLD, cold water is bad too, since it won`t open up the cuticle for the shampoo to get into your hair and take out the dirt and stuffy. So lukewarm is good. =)

When I fall in love it will be forever, or I’ll never fall in love.

i did not know that!
i had to shower with lukewarm water cause this apartment is so old and the hot water is dodgy
but i always like to shower with warm hot water. maybe i should rinse with cold water

youre supposed to wash your hair in warm water
then before you get out of the shower, quickly rinse it in cold water
this sort of... "locks in" your hair?
yeah, works for me
and it does give it a shiney-er look

That`s right.
You should wash your shampoo out with lukewarm water but wash the conditioner out with cold water.

You don't have to shower in cold water to get shiny hair. Like someone mentioned, you can clean and shampoo your hair with regular warm water etc but rinse your conditioner out with cold water.
OR
if u cant even stand doing a full cold rinse. Just wash and condition using warm water and after you're all done, do a cold shot. just run cold water over your hair for 5 secs to cover it all.
