i've been wondering why you cant eat dinner lunch or breakfast while watching tv or playing video games..... cause my mom said it messes up something in the stomach to not function propperly, or not feel comfortable and there for makes you gain weight. thats why people who always eat while watching tv or playing video games are really over weight... but can someone explain why its so bad for you?

I think it's because a lot of blood vessels is focused on your stomach to digest your food so when you play games or something it focuses on your eyes or whatever. That's what my mom says but I don't know lol

lol that's funny
I just thought it was because your hands are busy on the remote and can't concentrate on getting the food into your mouth :x

LOL no way !
I always eat my meals in front of tv,
I don't have a dining table in my apartment, because it's useless.
me fat? overweight? Nope.
Those people are overweight just because they spend too much time in front of tv,
don't watch what they eat, such as fatty food and drink alcohol and soda, and not active/exercise regularly.
I think your mom just doesnt want you to eat while watching tv.
when I was little, my dad used to mad at me when I ate in front of tv.
He wanted me to eat on a table, like civilized people.

From what I learned from my health class, if you eat while doing other things your stomach tends to nto "pay attention" and your mind doesn't get the signal that you're full so you eat more than you would have if you just sit and eat. Eh, that's all I can remember though. I know there's more to it, I just can't remember since the class was about a year ago.
