I'm thinking about buying a 19 inch widescreen envision LCD. Will the widescreen distort images? I still want to use Adobe Photoshop CS regularly...
Help please? Thank you. ^^

Widescreen?

No, the screen has more pixels for the workspace.
Example:
Look at your current monitor with one eye shut, pretend that is normal. Open your second eye and the workspace/view area increases, that is widescreen.
I do own a 19" widescreen and I must say it has made working on my computer more productive. I like the fact how you can have two documents open at 75% and it'll be viewable.
However, if you play games that do not support widescreen.
1) Most likely, it will stretch, ex: WarCraft 3, StarCraft
2) You can purposely set some LCDs to render it in the normal 4:3 ratio. But it will appear smaller, but without the stretching.

Yes, minus the wallpaper.
That's the thing with widescreens, alot of wallpapers aren't but since you work with gfx anyways, its fine make your own

The only way you would distort images is if you hooked up your widescreen monitor using a non-widescreen resolution. But that's really obvious.
interfacelift.com has some really nice widescreen wallpapers.

I take it you just got it new, so you have to go to the manufacturer's site and download the driver. Then make sure you graphics driver is also up to date, reboot. And then you can change it in Display Options in Control Panel.

nooo you just right click your desktop, go to properties last tab and max out the resolution slider!

What he said.
You don't even need drivers for setting up monitors/resolution unless it comes with built-in speakers.
