Well my dad has a Compaq pc that is about a year old now and it’s been working absolutely fine up until two days ago. Whenever we start the computer an error pops up and says
svchos.exe-application error
the instruction at “0x007a2007” referenced memory at “0x000b7000”. The memory could not be “read”
Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on Cancel to debug the program

It doesn’t matter if I click on OK or Cancel it will automatically start up a system shutdown that says windows must now restart because the DCom sever process launcher service terminated unexpectedly and it starts counting down from 1 minutes and then restarts itself again and the whole process repeats

Also I’ve been noticing that when we’re online we’re getting unwanted pop ups and our wireless connection isn’t working properly sometimes it would say there’s no connection even though there is

I’ve ran a few security programs through it but nothing seems to be helping

Can anyone help me? Please and thank you!

Start out by checking out this link.

If a scan from Adaware, Spybot and your virus scanner doesn't fix your problem then you'll have to reformat. Malware probably made your svchost.exe corrupt. You can try a windows repair with the windows CD or just reformat your computer completely.

Nah, it reinstalls your window files so if you do a repair you will have to redownload the windows updates and all that but it will almost be as good as a new install.

BUT theres the strange 1 in 10 or so who get some crazy error sleep.gif so good to backup before starting anyways.

If it started just two days ago, then I suggest you back up files and do system restore.

If the problem occurs again, then reformat/repair.
