Okay I'm getting my video ipod on Thursday

but I need to know

do I have to dl movies in order to put them on there or do I just insert a dvd into my computer
and it will read it and I'll be able to import the movie that way?

I dun know anything about this so if anyone has an answer pleasseee help me!!

Hm, well I actually have a Vision:M, but if you download movies, you'll still have to convert it to iPod format (which is .m4v I believe) and if you want to put DVDs on your iPod, you have to rip them, then convert them to iPod format...It takes quite a while =x I'm sure there's a guide on soompi somewhere...

Your DVD will not be directly imported into your video iPod. You have to first transfer the video files (the numbered vob files) onto your harddrive, use a converter to convert everything to .mp4, and then import into your iPod.

Pretty much the same thing with downloaded movies, you have to convert them to .mp4 and then import.

It's a very lengthy process (especially directly from a DVD), but I do it all the time anyway hahaha
