i own a kodak v803. those of you who are familiar with kodak digital cameras might know that they come with a program called kodak easyshare. well, i found the program INCREDIBLY annoying, so i deleted the software and just attached the camera with the USB thing and removed the photos the way you'd remove files with a memory stick (like it shows up on "my computer" as another drive). but that was a really bad idea, because after i did that, the camera wouldn't turn on. and the computer doesn't recognize the camera at all. i must've removed something i wasn't supposed to, and now i have no idea how i'd even go about fixing the mistake i made.

help! thanks.

make sure your computer has been rebooted since the last time that error occurred. Remove the battery from the camera. Remove your memory card. Now try to plug it into your computer again.

If it looks like the computer detected your camera but it doesn't show up in My Computer, right-click My Computer > Manage > Disk Management. Try to find your camera in the list on the bottom-right of the window. If you find it, right-click it then change the drive letter to an unused drive letter. Just to eliminate any potential issues, don't have any other USB flash drives plugged in when you're doing all this.

If your computer doesn't seem to find your camera when you plug it in, however, then try a different USB port.

If you've tried all that and it still doesn't work then put ONLY the battery back in and try again.

If that still doesn't work... then attempt to upgrade the firmware.

If all else fails... warranty time! Or play that whole "buy another one and switcheroo" game. ph34r.gif
