For business though, you need to apply Junior year to get into the business major. Until then, I think you're a general student. And I think undergrad will end up being five years long?
I might be totallllllyyyyy off~

Junior year of college.
i think you're off. end of junior year should be way too late to apply to b-school. guess you can take thyun's word for it.

"what's umich like" is a question i'd be better equipped to answer. i don't know what umich is known for (to those who aren't already here). probably just go blue, cold weather, academics. people who grew up in michigan seem to regard it as, like, the pinnacle of higher education... which it most patently is not. iono. it's all right. i have no basis for comparison anyway.

You can apply to the Ross school for a 3 year BBA as a high school senior (although it's very competitive?) so I'm guessing most peolple get in junior year:
University of Michigan sophomores who wish to apply to the Ross School of Business will do so during the second term of their sophomore year. The Admissions Committee will begin to accept applications in January 2006. Applications are due February 15, 2006. Prospective students for the BBA Program will be evaluated based on their grades in their undergraduate courses, leadership and extracurricular activities and essays.
University of Michigan sophomores who wish to apply to the Bachelor of Business Administration Program are required to have completed the following courses: Calculus (Math 115), Freshman Composition (English 125 or its equivalent), Microeconomics (Econ 101), Macroeconomics (Econ 102), Financial Accounting (ACC 271), Managerial Accounting (ACC 272 – recommended to complete prior to start of the BBA program). In highly extenuating circumstances, one of these requirements might be completed while the student is a Ross School of Business student.
Admission to the BBA Program is highly competitive. Consideration for admission as a University of Michigan sophomore requires that a minimum of 55 transferable credits from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor will be completed by the end of second semester. Most students admitted have an overall GPA above 3.2 Strength of overall academic schedule, leadership activities after high school and required essays (a part of the application) play an important role in choosing among applicants with similar academic credentials.
