Monitor's Usb Doesn't Work please help~

i have a dell monitor that has two usb cable plugs on the side but when i plug something in it, it doesn't recognize anything. the usb on the cpu works fine. does anyone know why it doesn't work? sorry if this is a stupid question, i don't know anything about computers.

I just looked at some reviews and found out that dell doesn't have drivers for this monitor for the usb ports. I should've done this earlier. Thanks for the suggestions.

okay this is a stupid question and I'm pretty sure you checked, but is your monitor USB cable hooked up to your computer? the usb ports on dell LCDs have always worked for me.

first thing that popped into my head too. >_<
you shouldn't need to download drivers for a usb hub on a monitor since it's basically a usb hub glued on to your monitor.
