i know it'll get you major nail damage..but--
i've never broken out from manicures---
where did you hear that from? i'm curious.
im` l0vEd: that's how i do it too-- if i need to use those 3d nail pens --i do the designs on a piece of plastic.. then when it dries i apply them to the nails..before sticking them on my nails..
but i wouldn't really care if my nails were perfect.. as long as they're pleaseable to me.. from far away they'll look nice anyway..haha.. if they see them..my sister always wants me to do her nails perfect -- i don't think i mind it much though.. i love designing and doing the nails too!
for those who have 3d nail pens...
is it really 3d ish like the japanese acrylic art?
can you post pics?

it is and it isn't depending on how you use it.
the best way is with a stencil, like the ones you see on the nelpara website
otherwise it's kind of hard to do it yourself w/o a stencil, and you also have to wait SUPER long for the 3D to dry because it's a lot of nail polish you know?
i prefer to use acrylic powder or paint, it works haha

BR1TT4NYy: it takes a longer time for the 3d nail pens to dry..!
i haven't done much with my 3d nail pens but these are old pics i posted a while back...the last set with the pink hearts are done with 3d pen nails..

however i did do a set of nails with clear acrylic nails..and did the faded thing to it! i loved them..but i took them off because they were my good luck nails for my exams. i finally got to design a set of nails after guitar exams.. !!
*will post pics later!

i haven't tried anything like that..and it does look easy to apply.!! but definitely try it out..you won't know until you try.. -- but no pressure.. just if you're willing to spend the money to try it out.
here goes that recent nail design--not a good photo because i didn't have batteries in my digicam.. ended up using my phone cam instead...

since i sucked at trying to blend the nail polish to cause that gradient affect..or faded affect.. if you just apply an coat over the whole nail.. let it dry, then apply a second coat half way on your nail, then the last coat, on one third of the nail, it will have a similar affect.. i basically did the faded affect that i've been wanting to try out.. i think i can recommend this nail polish if you're having a hard time with the fading affect..its what i used...the first coat is a really transparent color--- like it just gives a tint to your regular nail color, but applying multiple layers will give you the full color..
this site supposedly offers a free sample of the nail polish: http://www.brandarama.com/DRen461dd8666?sud=307337

but if you want clean french tips---
1. put the sticker on a clean nail. (no polish or anything)
2. apply a clear coat so that the white doesn't leak in between the sticker.
3. after the clear coat dries, apply the white polish.
4. let it dry, then remove the sticker, and redo another clear coat to clean up the polish.
i'll try to post up a visual tutorial when i can.!! it'll probaby help more.!

if I put on fake nails and wear them for a few weeks, the glue that is stuck on the nail is non-removeable? so i can't wear the nails anymore T^T?
