QUESTION! I saw this posted outside of a nail salon.

whats the difference between hot oil, spa and regular set?
what the heck is a china silk!?

oil = hot oil = oil manicure. they probably just stick ur hand into cuticle oil or some kind of oil and do a manicure for you. hot oil is when they heat it up.

spa = water. like spa pedicure, you sit in a massaging chair and water comes out in a pool. etc.

regular set = acrylics.

Can someone tell me if its necessary to use Konads nail polish for their stamp designs or can we use our own nail polish?

konad's nail polish is kinda rubber-y...allowing it to transfer from the stamp to your nails..i dunno about regular nail polish, but i remember bunny tried it before and it came out fine..just lighter?

yeah, regular nail polish works, but the result is not bold, it comes out lighter / a bit sheer because regular nail polish is watery, not thick like Konad nail polish.
Some people said very old nail polish could do the trick. I dunno, never tried it out.

Ah ok, cuz i've been getting my nails done for years and starting to get sick of the inconveniency. I have alot of nail polish so i thought it'll be pointless to buy more for the Konad stuff =( But thanks for letting me know! =D

I love simplicity blush.gif

Does anyone know how to achieve this?
I roughly know how it's done, but I can't seem to get the same results... sweatingbullets.gif

i'm curious. are there any people who know how to do their own acrylics? like, you've gone to school for it?
i bought this kiss nail sculpting thing but i think either i'm doing something wrong or the materials aren't all that great?
plus i was looking up vids on youtube and sorta got freaked out reading comments for this one vid
cus they said liquid monomer is toxic and not to get it on your skin but i'm pretty sure i got some on mine lol tears.gif
sooo if anyone has any tips do's and dont's it'd be much appreciated ;D
i'm thinking of just going downtown and buying some supplies.

Mmm! What a helpful thread. I can get ideas from here and try them out!
Thanks everyone! biggrin.gif

Anyways, tomorrow is my junior prom and my nails were long enough to paint on.
So, I did a french manicure with designs and then did my toes.

These are my real nails, and they were all done with a toothpick and nailpolish.

regular nail polish is toxic also.

so acrylic is pretty much 2x worse as nail polish.
u should go to school. but if u get ur nails done alot, and u know how to do it, practice will make it perfect.

acrylics are pretty out right now, gels are in. BUT acrylic designs are in.

i love browsing this thread smile.gif
people are so creative with their nails!
i've been wanting to have nail art pens but i can't find any here in the Philippines,
so one night, after getting inspiration from this thread, i did a freehand drawing of hearts on the upper right of each nail using the usual nail polish[the one with the thick brush],having the gold nail polish as the base
here's a pic. happy.gif

i usually keep my nails short cuz of photography wink.gif
if ur wondering why my pic has a credit,it's becuz i got so fascinated that i submitted it on my deviantart account happy.gif
