First where are you that there are not a lot of asians that listen to your kind of music?
Second where I am in Colorado I know tons of Asian people who listen to Death metal and such music.
I listen to it sometimes... i mean its not really my thing, I listen to everything, but yeah....
and Third... I have but not to the point where it bothers me.

oh you're kinda like my brother. he suddenly got into the whole underground metal stuff and got all dedicated. his friends thought he was psycho and all of them except his best mates kinda started ignoring him.
as for me. i love listening to asian music because english music doesn't really get to me anymore. my friends call me fob (not like it has ANYTHING to do with it) and make fun of me. but i don't really care anymore; my close friends know about it and have accepted the fact that i don't have the same taste in music as them

I'm kind of a music head/snob, so I tend to judge people by their musical tastes. I know, it's bad, but it annoys me when people only know mainstream top 40 hits.
However, I do get judged by my musical tastes too. I'm an Asian man who's obsessed with soul, jazz and hip-hop. You can often find me listening to Prince, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Sly & The Family Stone, Curtis Mayfield, Funkadelic or Al Green. Most people only know about these artists through certain songs (ex: Marvin Gaye - Let's Get It On), so they automatically think weirdly of me when they learn about my musical tastes.

hahahaha, I used to get this all the time in high school and I still get it now!
What's so wrong with not being part of the norm? For heaven's sake. I wish I could tell everyone who had dissed me over my music tastes to go get a life and mind their own business.
