Uhm. I don't think it's weird. I prefer Asian music over American music anyway. I like it better if I can't understand what they're saying. c: It's all about the beat.

im filipino and i find american music kinda weird.
i prefer asian music.
i listen to korean [ahah big bang of course]
chinese
japanese [omgg kaoru amane's voice is amazing. i feel so peaceful
when i hear her songs]
my mom thinks im weird cuz i dont even understand the language.
but i always say music is worldwide and sometimes you dont need to learn the language to love it.

addition to my post: 9/5
i've been listening to a lot of kpop lately. and i've been starting to hate american music.
they absolutely make no sense and there's no meaning to it.

yeah my friend think it's a waste of time..since i don't understand a thing...cause with english music and viet i'm very fussy cause they have to have good lyrics.....so yeah...but they will get over it.....personally i think music is universal...you don't have to understand to enjoy it....and dressing...well you can't be much different since the fashion sense are pretty much similar around the global..like people in Australia dress like UK and other countries stuff..so can't really differenciate that...

Yeah. I agree with all of you. Its not weird at all. But I hate how some people are like "omg. thats soo gay." Bleehh. What do they know? Personally, whenever I listen to music, I tend to pay more attention to the actual music than the lyrics so I guess thats why I'm so into Asian music. They've got great music.

When people ask me why I listen to foreign music that I don't even understand....

I would say "you don't have to understand the meaning to enjoy great music."

SO no, it's NOT weird or anything.

its not weird.... and it doesnt matter. its just music, as long as it's good and you enjoy it then listen to it all you want. nothing weird about that.

but lyrics are important to me. i like listening to lyrics i understand cuz i "feel" the song more.... so i do slightly prefer american music over kpop/jpop.

I don't think it's weird. As long as you love the song and feel it then it's all good. I don't even know Japanese/Korean songs and I still sing along to them smile.gif.

i don't think it's weird, i'm hmong and i listen to mostly japanese and korean songs...i barely listen to any hmong songs...but of course my friend thinks i'm weird b/c i don't understand what their saying. and yeah sometimes it ticks me off but i just shrugs it off my shoulder.....NOW BASICALLY SHE'S EATING HER WORD BACK B/C SHE'S FILIPINO AND LISTENING TO KOREAN SONGS lol i rubbed that into her face and she couldn't say anything back to me. but really i don't see it weird....i see it as NORMAL a lot of ppl do that.

for some people they would find it weird. but i think it is not weird. For instance, i listen to japanese and korean songs and to be honest I love japanese and korean than tagalog songs.. sorry but i really prefer them. =/ even though i don't speak korean or japanese i will find english translations to know what the songs are all about. and through listening to them, i will gradually learn speaking and understand korean or japanese.
