It's not weird at all. I like every kind of languages, as long as their music fine. And so far, i like korean, mandarin and japanese language the most. Of course, i like their music as well. Don't know what they are saying, but still like it..LOL. When i got really curious about the meaning, i start searching for translation. And without you know it, you actually learn those language...

Though destiny is keeping us far apart for now...Our memories that we have fused within are so deep that I could not trade them for the world..

nope i don't think it's odd if your listening to a song that ain't your native language
i'm eurasian (german, irish, japanese, korean) to be exact and i really enjoy listening pop music from various countries, i really don't care in which language the artists are singin the main thing is that a song im listening to has catchy tune interesting rhythm/beat/vocal

Music is Music! ~<3 If it sounds good then that's all that matters to me!
I tend to just ignore ppl who think it's weird...at the end of the day it's me who's listening and not them... wink.gif

I love listening to music from other countries and I think it's really cool, but other people tell me it's weird. People always ask me why I listen to international music, but I don't really know what to tell them. I just listen to anything I like, I don't care what language it's in.

LOL... at first I thought it was a bit weird to listen to Korean music since I'm Chinese... But then, hey! It's so good, why not? I'm trying to learn some of the language and I just sing along with the words cuz I can sound out a lot of it... Not perfect of course... Far from it, but who cares? And dressing like another culture? Dressing the language? What does that mean? Well, I'm thinking of literally dressing.. like fobby fashion and stuff. I find Taiwanese clothes and stuff to be similar to Korean fashion... only I see Korean fashion more around here, obviously.

Well, anyway, I think it doesnt matter if you understand teh language or not.. cuz I'm Chinese but not Mandarin so I listen to a lot of Mandarin songs but I barely understand it... some but not ALL... so yea... we are not weird XD

Nope, I don't think so. I'm Korean and I listen to Chinese, Japanese, and English.
And plus, tons of people in soompi listen to music in languages that they can't speak or understand. smile.gif

I don´t think it´s weird at all smile.gif

I listen to korean, japanese, chinese songs/dramas/movies and well, for the movies I got subs but the songs, mostly I don´t know what they are sining about. It´s the small english phrases who tells me if it´s a love song or whatever wink.gif Really, I don´t even know a lot of DBSKs songs meaning. (my fav band)

But then again, even if I listen to english, I still don´t know what they are saying at most. Like that shakira song "Underneath your clothes"... I always thought she sang "I don´t need your clothes" blush.gif laugh.gif (ok, I have a slightly bad hearing and english isn´t my first language ^^)

I have this friend of mine who LOVES josh groban, but she refused to listen to any songs were he didn´t sing in english... like his italian songs... I could´nt really understand it. She couldn´t hear what he was singing in english anyway xD Another friend of mine started listen to one of my songs and I could see that she liked it, but then she went...hey, I can´t understand this! Change the song!.... blink.gif ph34r.gif

I think it´s a matter of getting used to it smile.gif I thought it was a bit weird at first but now it´s the most normal thing in the world smile.gif

I don't think it's weird at all.
I'm filipina but listen to Japanese & Korean songs. lol .
I guess it's important that you actually 'feel' the song, though you can't understand it. That's pretty much what makes me keep listening to songs from other ethnicities.

I don't think it's werid at all but people like my friends who are not into other culture music thinks I'm a werido.
I look at music as an art, even though I don't understand it, the melody tells me what the song is all about and so I don't really have to know the lyrics and if I do happend to find out what the lyrics mean, that's even better.
For a very long time american music has bored the crap out of me. I started listening to other music back in the 90's...
It started off with Thai music. I got hooked on Thai music for a while, then I got hooked on Hindi music to Korean music.

I like to try something new and do something different... Why be normal???
