Does anyone practice MMA(MIXED MARTIAL ARTS)? Although fighting may seem barbaric, MMA is truly an art form, much like dance. Yeah, it gets a little bloody and painful every now and then(well, all the time, actually), but its great for cardio, self defense, and confidence. I like it a lot. I don't go around and knock people's heads off though. It's just a fun sport that many think to be horrible and barbaric. Speaking of which, I might write an essay about MMA for my writing class. T_T

It's all types of martial arts put together including but not limited to: jui jitsu, boxing, kick boxing, wrestling, muay thai, tae kwon do, etc.
As for videos... well, one of my favorite professional fighters is GEORGES ST. PIERRE (A CANADIAN, JUST LIKE YOU TETRA, HAHAHAHA).

And what's with all the guys going on top of each other and staying there. At least they keep their pants on.

Midgets? I don't know. As for them being on the ground, it's a lot of wrestling, ground and pound, and jui jitsu.
I don't know about you, but MMA owns.

This guy believes he can win this fight standing straight up with his "SPIRITUAL POWERS," which can be seen earlier in the video. If you ever get picked on, and you know a little MMA, you'll most likely come out the victor of a fight, especially against (NOT TO BE RACIST OR ANYTHING, JUST FROM MY EXPERIENCE) black guys and mexican guys due to their common style of fighting, which consists of WILD PUNCHING and WILD PUNCHING.

Well the angle was weird xP
Made them look like midgets due to their figure.

How much is "a little" MMA?
And yes, fighting seems barbaric, but that style looks even more barbaric due to all that face kicking >.>
At least cripple them instead of scar their looks for life. That's like worse than being handicapped.

i love watching mma stuff like ufc,pride, ifl and what not.

and as much as i love gsp, he got pwned my serra

LOL, I know. That was quite a horrendous sight. I have a new found respect for Serra after that fight. It was a beautiful and articulate TKO victory.

@Tetra: A little MMA.. learn some boxing and wrestling and you'll be fine with most guys. Not much of the population are very educated in the art of war.

For the people that have no idea what mma is imagine boxing but you can kick, grapple, choke you opponents. It's basically martial arts with all styles combined. Very similar to what you need to do in boxing. There's also a set of rules, which are governed by a sporting commission. Here's what mma athlethes aim to do to win their fights.

1. beat their opponent until they can defend anymore. also sometimes, when opponents become unconscious. - TKO

2. submission. basically if a fighter is choking the other guy's neck, twisting a knee or arms so painful that they have to "tap" equivalent of saying "uncle."

3. corner throws in the towel. signifying that their fighter is getting beat too badly.

4. end of fight decision by judges.

yeah I saw that fight...until the first take down (which shouldn't have happened anyway) I had my money on Mirko. I'd love to see the two fight again, seeing Mirko completely tired in the last two told the story. Fedor really is a beast.
